sedgwick Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Have you noticed that? It cuts the word "help" out of titles. Why? just wondering...
AdrianaLima Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 No I haven't noticed that. It makes me wonder also.
blind_otter Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Have you noticed that? It cuts the word "help" out of titles. Why? just wondering... They do this because every other post people put up has the word "help" or "advice" in it. They cut out that word to prevent every thread title from looking exactly the same, in an attempt to force posters to be more specific about what they need and more descriptive in their thread titles, rather than the usual endless stream of "help, I need advice". Back before they instituted this policy, many, many, many threads had exactly the same title, or nearly the same.
heartoutside Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 It's also probably legal reasons. This is an advice forum, and not a place to actually seek "help."
Joebo Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Thank god that was cleared up. When I first joined I was nearly caught in a perpetual loop by trying to start a thread called 'Help! I need advice on how to post a thread!' I coulda been there for eternity. It took me ages to make my first post on this site. Good call Sedgewick, maybe now some unsuspecting newbies wont have to deal with the same frustration.
