Owl Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I want you for my private detective! Funny...after my wife and I were well into recovering our marriage and were able to start joking about some of this stuff, she'd said something along those lines as well. She suggested I change careers! Up until this point, I'd not talked much about what I'd done in the military prior to meeting her...but there was a lot that came out afterwards that forced me to explain somethings. Here's what's funny too...just the other day, we were joking about this and she'd mentioned something about me probably still knowing stuff about OM. I rattled his home phone and home address off...from memory. She just shook her head and laughed...she knows me well enough to know I don't forget things like that. You know what they say..."Keep your friends close..."

Aquarius Rising Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 I recently went to a Garth Brooks concert and was so surprised at how much I liked country music. During the concert, Garth began to sing In Another's Eyes and soon after his wife Trish Yearwood joined him in this beautiful song about the OM/OW. I can't help but think about my MM and me when I hear this song. What songs remind you of your OM/OW or MM/MW? The one that has done wonders for me in ending the affair is Patty Griffin's - Let him fly!

NeanderthalSSoldier Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 "Secret Lovers" by Atlantic Starr You cant get any more descriptive than this. Old song, but always new for someone out there. Best Sprint commercial ever. Hell, one of the best overall commercials ever.

Author White Flower Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 Always Something There to Remind Me by Naked Eyes I walk along the city streets you used to walk along with me And every step I take reminds me of just how we used to be Well how can I forget you girl, When there is always something there to remind me? Always something there to remind me. As shadows fall I pass the small cafe where we would dance at night. And I can't help recalling how it how it felt to kiss and hold you tight. Well how can I forget you girl When there is always something there to remind me? Always something there to remind me. I was born to love her and I will never be free, You'll always be a part of me. If you should find you miss the sweet and tender love we used to share Just come back to the places where we used to go and I'll be there. Well, how can I forget you girl When there is always something there to remind me? Always something there to remind me. I was born to love her and I will never be free, You'll always be a part of me. Cause there is always something there to remind me. Always something there to remind me
Lookingforward Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 well if we're doing "walking songs" ..... can't remember who sang it first "Walk On By" If you see me walking down the street And I start to cry each time we meet Walk on by, walk on by Make believe that you don't see the tears Just let me grieve in private 'cause each time I see you I break down and cry And walk on by (don't stop) And walk on by (don't stop) And walk on by I just can't get over losing you And so if I seem broken and blue Walk on by, walk on by Foolish pride Is all that I have left So let me hide The tears and the sadness you gave me When you said goodbye Walk on by and walk on by and walk by (don't stop) Walk on by, walk on by Foolish pride Is all that I have left So let me hide The tears and the sadness you gave me When you said goodbye Walk on by (don't stop) and walk on by (don't stop) and walk by (don't stop) I read these lyrics and thank the stars I'm no longer living in the same city as the exsMM

nymphetgrown Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I can't believe nobody came up with these: "Love The One You're With" (CSNY) - I can think of people this would suit. And a dose of reality: "Does He Love You?" (Rilo Kiley) - one of the lines is "And your husband will never leave you/No, he will never leave you for me".

Author White Flower Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 well if we're doing "walking songs" ..... can't remember who sang it first "Walk On By" Wasn't that Dionne Warwick?
Author White Flower Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 I can't believe nobody came up with these: "Love The One You're With" (CSNY) - This is a good one, but I always looked at it like a one night stand sort of sitch. Just hook up or have a fling because your SO is not around. A chance encounter. Not a once in a lifetime soul-mate kind of feeling. Not that all OM/OW relationships are about the soul-mate thing.
Lookingforward Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 well if we're doing "walking songs" ..... can't remember who sang it first "Walk On By" Wasn't that Dionne Warwick? You may very well be right, but it's been covered by a few lol
Author White Flower Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 You may very well be right, but it's been covered by a few lol Yes, I just googled it. I also confirmed that it was written by Burt Bacharach which I thought. It was 'the B side that became a classic.' He also wrote, 'This Guy's in Love', which I heard over and over in my head after MM told me he loved me. Funny, cause I never even noticed that song before. I guess it never had any meaning for me before he came along.
