LoveLace Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Pretty soon I'm meeting Bill for lunch, after talking every day for the last week or so, I'm really, really hoping I'm still interested after this, because I still think about Dan hopelessly all the time, and it won't stop until someone else gets hold of me...I'll come back and update on how the date goes..cross your fingers!
Star Gazer Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Try not to get your hopes up, LL. That way you'll be pleasantly surprised if/when this new guy surpasses your low-expectations.
AriaIncognito Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 I hope you have a good time :-) Just be yourself and look at it as two friends meeting for lunch. No expectations. First dates are usually a bit awkward to begin with.

gfto Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 I still think about Dan hopelessly all the time Bill doesn't have a chance.
Author LoveLace Posted March 22, 2008 Author Posted March 22, 2008 Bill doesn't have a chance. Ha! If Dan wanted me, then perhaps this might be true. But he doesn't, so Bill automatically has a very good chance.

Yamaha Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 You never date a gal that is still in-love with another guy. She will always be comparing you to him and he is the one she loves. It is not his responsibility to take your mind off of Dan. It is up to you to change your focus and look in another direction. The problem is that if Dan decides he wants to keep you on the string, for his on ego, you will go running right back and where does that leave Bill?
Author LoveLace Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 It went quite well. We had dinner, drinks and drove around to get a tour of the high flood waters around here right now. And it was a lot, a whole lot of talking, telling stories and such. At 1st I wasn't sure how attracted I felt physically, but by the end of the night I'd decided I was definitely attracted. He's not as "manly" as a I normally like them..but wow what a nice guy. Hot, in a really preppy way that I don't normally go for. We went back to his place which looked like a a professional decorator had been there (hhmm...very nice, for a bachelor...) He's the responsible, but very laid back type. We fell asleep watching tv on the couch, after a lot more talking. We kissed on the couch, but it was pretty tame, you know tongue-free. He drove me to my car, where we kissed like that again, only more and we hugged. We are going out again next weekend. We both had a pretty good time. I acutally mentioned crashing on his couch cuz I was too tired to drive home, I didn't want to shack up with him but still, we said if we want to start a relationship right that I shouldn't crash there....he would have let me if I were really too drunk to drive, but I was just really tired. So I drank a soda and refreshed myself to drive home. He told me to call when I got home safe, which I did and again we said that we had a fun time and we'll talk tomorrow. I definitely like him enough to go out with him again, and he's pretty much making Dan look pretty bad right now. ha.
AriaIncognito Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Sounds like a very nice time :-) Yay! Dan sucks. I dated one too, and believe me, stay away :-)
