JackJack Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 This is thread is based off of another one. I kind of got the idea after Woggle had mentioned something about emotions and being able to bounce back quickly. So my question is, can some of you bounce back quickly after a relationship is over? I do know of people who can be emotionally attached, but then if something were to happen they can turn their emotions off like a light switch. Why do you think there are some people who can do this?
Mag Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 I ended my previous relationship of 18 months around Jan 10th. When I told her, basically i was considerate but emotionless. At that time I still cared for her feelings, and if i had not "disconnected" my emotions for that there would have been no breakup. So yes, its possible but you have to will it in my opinion.

The example with the light switch is pretty much how things work for me. However, it is something that just happens. I don't think I could will myself to turn my emotions off, but I also never had to. It always worked when I needed it.
