Im doing something wrong

Right well Im thought i would join the forum because I could use some unbiased advice.

First off im 17 (please dont discredit me because of my age, hear me out) and im a junior in high school. I have been told that i am a great looking guy, but i am extremely nervous around girls. and i might not be the most approachable guy... im relatively quiet and i hang out with the "nerdy"crowd so that may have something to do with it. another problem i have is that i just freeze up around girls i like. i can never seem to talk to the girls that are actually worthwhile. i have only been in one relationship and i have never kissed a girl. Dont think that im asking for advice because i am just deparate for some "action". I genuinley would like to be in a relationship and i am currently looking for a prom date since i made court. i was thinking maybe it would be a good time to start looking for some sort of relationship.

i am currently interested in this one girl and i know she likes me, but i cant bring myslef to just walk up and talk to her. she seems great and i would love to get to know her better but i dont know how to go about doing it.

 

can anyone tell me what i could do to solve this? any adivice is welcome

This is one of those things the majority of us, guy or girl, goes through in high school. Yes, it is nerveracking speaking to people you are attracted to.

 

But.... Practice makes perfect. Or I should say, it get easier with repetition. Just take risks. The thing that worked for me was to ask them questions about themselves. It doesn't have to be out of this world: a simple "Hi (her name here) did you have a nice weekend?" usually does the trick, and usually leaves the door open so you can talk about what you did this weekend.

 

And, hmmm, if you know this girl likes you you absolutely must go speak to her.

Just confront her and first ask her what's her name, and you tell her yours. Then say," I'm really not good at approaching females, but since I find you to be very interesting, I wanted to push that to the side and see if the two of us can be close friends.' Then she may respond or whatever. Then slide the idea about the prom into the conversation. Because prom is coming very soon, so you don't want to prolong on that. Good Luck!!

i have have had a dramatic literature class with her all term and we sit close to each other everyday. ive never really said anything to her, but she told me that she liked me in an email about a week ago and im just too intimidated to do anything, but i just need to face my fears and talk to her
