LuCidiTy Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Ever notice how a lot of the time when you hear from an ex it has nothing really to do with you but with them? Them about to embark on their next journey or adventure...them about to take some big step or another in a relationship or job...them deciding to move. Are they just doing some sort of a touch back to validate something or what?
btc8 Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 I would think so. I think it's more like a, 'I am still too insecure, so I feel I need to contact my ex to prove I've moved on.' I never had it happen to me, but I know people who've had it happen to them. I don't fully understand why it's done, but I think it's more of a reflection of the ex's insecurities.
Issues & tissues Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Ever notice how a lot of the time when you hear from an ex it has nothing really to do with you but with them? Them about to embark on their next journey or adventure...them about to take some big step or another in a relationship or job...them deciding to move. Are they just doing some sort of a touch back to validate something or what? My ex dropped by last week to pick up some suff he had left behind at the apartment. All he could talk about was how wonderful his life had been since he had left me. If his life is as wonderful as he says it is, then why does he need to reiterate it over and over to his ex GF?
Trialbyfire Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Exes never go away. For some reason, they always come back. I've yet to experience one that hasn't.
dfreeman Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 My ex has been so mad at me since our breakup! I won't have to wonder if she is seeing someone else - she'll probably stop by to tell me on her way home from the first date! I can only imagine how fun that is going to be!

Ha ha...that would be...interesting.
Trialbyfire Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Oh joy. Something to look forward to. Yes. To expand on that, exes never die, they linger like a bad smell.
dfreeman Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Ha ha...that would be...interesting. You think I'm joking, but my ex has not missed one chance to rub my nose in my mistakes (while ironically staying completely blind to hers). She will call me (I'm sure it will be out of feigned respect) the minute she is f#(kin some other guy - I'm almost sure there will be some allusion to how good it is too. This is all new ground for me - I'VE NEVER BEEN HATED THIS MUCH IN MY LIFE!
Phateless Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Exes never go away. For some reason, they always come back. I've yet to experience one that hasn't. Mine has gone away. She did the touch-back thing within the first month or two but now, she has disappeared. I am pretty ok with that.
