I started dating a woman (LD...another city, but I am there weekly) and we both were attracted to each other and had chemistry. In fact, we both told each other that it was rare that we have chemistry...so we were both interested and excited.

Things were great when we were together, but we spend a lot of time emailing and lots can get lost of misinterpreted in email. Also, I wrote and said a few things that may have made me seem insecure. Ugghhh. At any rate, she told me she is no longer feeling it and we parted ways.

We emailed a little since then...and I made it clear that I know I messed-up, but am hopeful we can re-connect. She did not respond and I have left her alone because I want to show her that I will respect her space and have respect for myself (by not chasing her).

So, what should I do? Is it dead? Or, do I wait a few months and contact her when I am back in her city?

Hmmm...with what you've shared, it's hard to tell the real reasons for her backing off. You're assuming it was you showing insecurity or vulnerability and her not liking it, but it could be something entirely different, like her being emotionally unavailable for whatever reasons or perhaps dishonest or tired of some charade.

Can't tell how well you really knew and trusted her from this, but I suspect that maybe the chemistry might have been fast and perhaps gotten in the way of some of that other "stuff?"

As for her not responding, leave it at that. It wouldn't hurt in a few months to try once more to reconnect, I suppose, but if you don't hear back again, I'd say that was that.

Thanks for the repsonse. You are right...there could be so much more to it that I don't know about. What I do know is she had been living with a guy for several years...and he cheated multiple times on her...so, there may be some trust issues. Though I did let her know that I have NEVER cheated on anyone. I think the bigger issue is that we moved a little too fast.

Unfortunately, I think we had real chemistry...but I screwed it up without getting to really try it. To offset any insecurity or neediness I may have shown, I will leave it alone, give her space, let her date whomever she wants. A few months of that and she will be back. :)

Thanks again for yourt respone.
