GoFigure08 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I Love my boyfriend. we have been together for a while now about a year and 6 months. I am younger than him(25) and I like to go out and have a great time and enjoy my age(23) I have some college credits and have not finished my degree and I begin school in a month to start on the road of completing my business degree. My boyfriend is upset because right now until I start back I just as I said enjoy my age I go out I go on trips I have fun. I currently have a good paying job making a very nice salary in admissions. but my boyfriend makes me feel like I’m not good enough because he has a degree and I am not completed with mien and unsure of exactly what I want to do with my degree upon completion. Makes me feel like he thinks I'm a dead beat or something. I would not want to date someone who has nothing going for themselves so Why does he still deal with me? Shouldn't he if he truly loves me work with me? Opinions please?
NuTuDating Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I've worked with and known a lot of people since I graduated college. A college degree is no indicator of quality or intelligence or worth of a person. I've seen college graduates who were idiots and middle school dropouts make millions (while I did their taxes with my "college degrees"!)... You're boyfriend shouldn't be giving you a hard time, he should be supporting you in either your decision to go back to school or to keep the job you have. I would imagine 99% of the people you talk to would feel this same way. Your boyfriend is being a little stoopid about this.
Author GoFigure08 Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 Thanks I just wanted to see what others opinion of the situation would be. I understand where he is coming from wanting me to have a plan and be workign towards making millions or whatever but i just don't know right now. I'm still figuring it out.
carhill Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Hey, follow your heart; you're young and it sounds like you understand the value of work and education. My best friend never finished high school and owns a 10MM company and is retiring this year at the age of 55. I'm a college dropout and own my own business. Bill Gates is a college dropout Anyway, don't let BF's dictate what you do with your life. That college degree will open some doors but it's really up to you to have the goods, degree or not. Good luck!
