Curmudgeon Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Thus, the young, 18-21 year old is more biologically attractive to us because she is more likely to bear us strong, healthy offspring. And Nature wants strong , healthy children because that is how a species survives. Mother Nature may want 'em but Mother Nature ain't gonna raise and support 'em so while that likely is a very natural, biological urge, at this point in my life nothing scares me more than a woman of child-bearing age. Let's be honest here (and I'm not talkin' late 20s interested in teeny-boppers). If more mature men are attracted to younger women, which many are (what's not to like?), it usually has more to do with taut skin, perky breasts, tight butts, trim legs, unlined faces, good health, lots of energy, and a whole bunch of other attributes that have nothing to do with child-bearing potential.
Balthazar Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I would agree with you in that we all like women with these attributes. I offered a possible explanation for why we are attracted to the aforementioned perky breasts.

Citizen Erased Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) It's because you older men know we want to have a good shag from someone more experienced then the boys our age I would have to say it is mainly physical reasons more then anything. It would only be in a small amount of men who would want a long-term relationship with someone at least 10 years younger then them based on the emotional aspects. Edited March 13, 2008 by darlin_coco

Ahem...some of us thirty somethings haven't let mother nature/gravity drag us down...
Crestfallen_KH Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I've noticed this too. I'm 33, and I seem to be a magnet for guys 40+. I always assumed it was because I didn't have kids and still could, yet I wasn't too young or "inexperienced." I've also found that guys around my age look for women in their 20s. When I notice what guys are looking for, they almost always exclusively want younger women, even women who are significantly younger. The problem is that I don't want kids and I think 40+ is still a little too old for me right now. And trying to find a guy between 30-36 without kids and who doesn't eventually want kids has been almost impossible.
Curmudgeon Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Ahem...some of us thirty somethings haven't let mother nature/gravity drag us down... 30-somethings are wonderful too, as are 40-somethings and 50-somethings. But you have to remember, I'm a 60-something. Would I take pleasure in "doing" an enticing woman from any of those other age groups? Of course I would. i'm nobody's fool. It would be a treat! The more of them the merrier! However, for a sustained (and for me, committed and monogamous) relationship in which we could truly relate to one another and enjoy a shared past, give me a somewhat more seasoned woman from the 50s group everytime!

We have several decades more of experience ;) and we're usually more financially stable and will die off sooner!

Oh fine C. I'm only good for a bit of fun, not anything serious. I see how it is. It's the same issue I have with younger men. Give me a thirty something or forty something guy, any day unless there's a twenty something guy who's mature and experienced enough to handle a disturber like me.

Yeah, but then I'll have to deal with the grown children who will get everything when you kick off.
AussieJack Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I love women of all ages - they are fun, fun, fun... MY choice of women is made to suit the occasion... Next Saturday night I have a date with a 20 year old to go Salsa dancing.. Shis "PERKY" if you know what I mean ! Next month I am going to the Mayor's Ball at City Hall so I will choose a more mature and elegant companion. That is how I do it - I am 47 years old.
Stockalone Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I was just curious about this. 3 out of 4 of my relationships, all guys who are around the same age as me (late 20's) going for 18-21 year olds - with me as the exception. What's up with that? One told me that they make him feel younger as he was feeling old. Are 18 - 21 year old girls actually mature enough for a man looking for more then just fun? I am a guy in his late 20's and I have always been dating women in my own age range (+/- 2 years). I am sure that I would have nearly nothing in common with a girl that is 10 years younger than I am and I also think that I would not be comfortable dating a woman that is younger than my sisters.
Curmudgeon Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Oh fine C. I'm only good for a bit of fun, not anything serious. I see how it is. You'll alwats be good for far more than just a "bit" dontcha know!
Curmudgeon Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Yeah, but then I'll have to deal with the grown children who will get everything when you kick off. When I hit the dementia stage get me to sign it all over to you. Of course, in the meantime, I do expect some real memorable "adventure!"
burning 4 revenge Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I'm broke and stupid and so I have some things more in common with younger women, but overall I'd prefer someone my age or a bit older. I find women tend to be sexier in their thirties than in their twenties. They're still in generally good shape and they don't have babyfaces
Pyro Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I'm broke and stupid and so I have some things more in common with younger women, but overall I'd prefer someone my age or a bit older. :lmao: Thats the right attitude to have.

Author dreamergrl Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 I may be in my later 20's - but I look to be in my early 20's - I've always looked younger - maybe that's what attracted these guys to me in the first place then.
I Luv the Chariot OH Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 In the immortal words of Ladytron: "they only want you when you're seventeen/When you're twenty-one, you're no fun."
Replicant Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Are 18 - 21 year old girls actually mature enough for a man looking for more then just fun? Are you kidding!? You have a better chance of successfully walking through a minefield than surviving the fallout of drama from a girl that young. Dudes that need to target that low, probably are on the chopping block after one date with someone their own age. So instead they need to head back to high school to recover their egos.
Replicant Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 In the immortal words of Ladytron: "they only want you when you're seventeen/When you're twenty-one, you're no fun." Right, at 21 they take on a whole new outlook 'destroy everything you touch'
Balthazar Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Ladytron? Check out the immortal words of Winger: She's only seventeen, still she gives me love, like I've never seen She's only seventeen, daddy says she's too young, but she's old enough for me and daddy should know;)
stillafool Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 I think guys in their mid to late 20's would date 18-22 yr. olds girls because they are: -less experienced -good looks -no baggage -they aren't ready to start looking for a husband so they are more fun -more impressed by older guys
