Hi Everyone,

This question comes from my boyfriend. We are currently at a place where I need to feel we have a future, and he is okay with just being in the present, and not worrying about a future. We don't want kids, but I do want lifetime commitment whether that means marriage or not. So he has asked me to ask you all what your thoughts are (since he knows how much I love LS).

Also, we just went to an Eckhart Tolle Lecture which stresses being present. Eckhart actually mentioned "not getting married. You want a relationship that lasts forever...then just date" so of course my man is thrilled at this and is trying to convince me how accurate that statement is.

Not so sure I agree. But I do, for some reason, need to feel like we have a future.

Thoughts??

Since you're currently in an open relationship where you're lusting after another man, which is known by your MM, where do you think the future of your relationship will go?

I wouldn't jump the gun and call it officially open as of yet. it is something we are discussing. I am attracted to another man, because i feel a pulling away from my boyfriend and need a distraction, which is exactly what the other man is. No body parts have been touched, no dates outside of lunch at work have been made.

I personally would like my boyfriend to see a future with us. If he did, I don't think i'd be attracted to another man, and i also dont think an open relationship would be an option.

My boyfriend asked me to ask. Not me. I would like to think we ARE going somewhere sonce I really do love him.

People who say "we should just live for the present" when faced with having to make a decision about the future are basically telling you that they are keeping their options open. It may well be why your MM won't divorce, even though he is separated from his W. It keeps him from having to make that commitment to someone else. It sounds like he got himself out of one marriage, and doesn't want to go through that again.
