Crestfallen_KH Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Quick backstory: Husband of 5.5 years (8-year relationship) falls for a married co-worker and within two weeks of knowing her, tells me he wants to "be single." He proceeds to lie to me, refuses to leave his job and phones in 3-week attempt to work on the marriage, all the while waiting for her to see what she's going to do. Coincidentally enough, when her husband moves out and takes a new job out of state, he tells me he's more sure than ever that he wants the divorce. As soon as I move out, he moves in with her and then takes his married girlfriend around to meet his family before the divorce paperwork has even been started. I got the attorney to file the paperwork, and the ex agreed to pay the costs. I paid the retainer, and ex paid me back, in full. Well, today I got a refund of around $350 since our divorce was ridiculously simple, in large part because I refused to go postal. Technically, he agreed to pay for the costs of the divorce and any money left over is really his. So, this leaves me with one question... How should I blow his money?? I'm thinking a ridiculously expensive dinner with my current beau? The idea of my cheating ex-husband treating me and my boyfriend to dinner delights me to no end...
