Recently I went out with someone who I had met on line. We agreed to meet at this restaurant, and he showed up high! He was twitching and sweating and mumbling to himself. I said "You know, if this wasn't a good time for you, you could have called and cancelled or set another time." He answered "Huh?", I said "Nevermind." I finished my food (he paid as he should have even though he didn't eat anything), and I walked away.

Don't people have enough courtesy not to show up drunk / high when they are going to meet someone?! I guess not.

You know, I have to laugh because right now your avatar is Amy Winehouse, and you are complaining about someone showing up high.

But I agree: you want nothing to do with that person. He probably got high because he felt he needed it to meet you, probably to overcome nervousness and awkwardness.

Thats a person that has no issue solving problems via drugs, and thats nothing but trouble.

I'm not sure what sort of online site you are using, but this seems to happen to you a lot.

Maybe you should change some of your specifications on your profile or try to date a few people who are drug free?

That's an age old question : Where to meet good people? the Internet is questionable at best but we opt for it for convenience. Then there's networking through friends and family members, but they usually end up picking people THEY like rather than what you might like.

Neither of them were The One, but it's best to do some out of the ordinary things in order to meet others. Put yourself out there, you have nothing to lose.

You'll recognize what i underlined, that's right! It's you. You should be taking your own advice that you give to others. If convenience means you end up with some dude whom is more cooked than your meal, what do you expect if you've been down that road so many times before!? Also if it bothered you so much, how come you waited until after the main course to make your point and walk out on him?

I was going to ask you what he was doing while you sat there and ate??

Hey at least he showed up! Years ago I met up with someone I met over the phone at work for dinner - he left early to meet his dealer! I was stunned.

Maybe his intentions were to surprise you with dessert once he got the hash required to finish making the brownies.
