confuzzled12 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 ok so i had my beach date with the guy i like yesterday and hte word to describe it was...awkward. he picked me up from my class n we drove to a beach 30 mins away. in the beginnin it was fun but then it just got really awkward...he wasnt sitting really close to me so i felt like he didnt like me. we were both really quiet and fidgety a lot of the time. our convos started to get really random (i think 90% of the time we talked about the dogs on the beach). whenever i attempted to flirt or anything (like touch his arm or shoulder) he wud clam up and look down. he cudnt make eye contact a lot. i felt bad cuz i was so busy tihnkin a lot about how nervous i was that i was really quiet too. then...oh god...when he was dropped me back off to my car, he parked next to it, got out of the car, and "walked" me to my car door to give me a hug. i attempted to give him a kiss on the cheek but totally missed and got his neck. i felt so embarrassed i kinda giggled and went back to my car and then it ended. omg does he not like me anymore? we had been txtin everyday and talking more and i was really starting to believe he liked me.
SoHotZanzibar Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Was that your first date? If so, maybe its too much too soon for him. I doubt he doesn't like you. He's probably battling with himself of finding the balance of being respectful and being close to you. He's probably worried he might offend you if gets too 'handy'. Is he a shy guy, or one without many dates under his belt? I bet he would go out with you again if you asked him.
Author confuzzled12 Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 this was our...third hang out. the first time we went to a coffee shop and then a walk and he was really nervous then, like obviously. then the second time we had hung out for 10 hours (5 hrs at this art group hes in and the other 5 just walking around the city). but i think this was a lil more cuz he drove us to another city half n hour away to a beach and we had brought blankets n food n stuff.... im scared i either scared him or that he only sees me as a friend now
SoHotZanzibar Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Yeah. 3 dates and still like that... Why not try one last one. Maybe a date in a movie theater. It's dark, so he should feel more comfortable, and you can hold his hand on the arm or lean up against him. Test his reactions there. If they are still stand offish, then tell him about it and/or move on.
