Lately I've been wondering something if some ones partner/spouse were to suddenly become injured/disfigured like say maybe burnt badly.

And the one partner found them selves not attracted to them any more no matter how much they may love that person.

And they eventually split up over it would that make the healthy spouse shallow and wrong in some way do you think?

Of course you should support and love your partner but what about in a situation like that I was just wondering what others thought about that.

I myself wouldn't know what I would do because I've never been in that situation. Ide like to think I would stick with my partner/spouse no matter what.

What made me wonder about it in the 1st place is Rs sister had an accident recently and from what I hear shes pretty badly burnt in the face.

Poor thing I feel so bad for her such a shame what a freak thing she doesn't really want visitors so it must be bad.

But I was just wondering how dealing with something like that may in the long run affect a marriage.

I guess I just thought it may make an interesting topic for discussion would you stick with them no matter what even if you went really physically attracted to them any more?

I'd like to believe I'd stick with my partner as well... but I don't know because I have never been in a similar situation. I'm guessing the likelihood of staying together probably increases with couples who have been together longer...

I'm hoping I'd stick...but you never know until it happens to you I guess. But if the tables were turned, I'm hoping my partner would stick with me, knowing that it was still me inside. Unfortunately it may not just be the phsical changes that we would have to deal with but also the inner changes, lack of confidence, anger, grief for the past.

Things like that will change a person, not just on the outside but on the inside too.
