sedgwick Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 (edited) i was just doing dishes and simultaneously practicing my shimmies to southern culture on the skids (that's how i trick myself into doing dishes: i call it shimmy practice.) picture it: blaring bluegrass classics, barefoot in the kitchen with my ass flying around, having just cooked sweet potatoes. and i'm wearing a wifebeater, pink camo shorts, and my rocked-out 1950s diner-waitress glasses, which recently led a friend to say, "those glasses make your hair look bigger." things i do not need in life, part 1: bigger hair. also, today i FINALLY watched a video of myself bellydancing, after four years of doing so. i just simply wouldn't watch myself because i thought i'd be mortified and never dance again. but that wasn't the case at all! i was really excited and proud of myself. sometimes i have these moments of satisfaction in knowing he may find him a fiddle player, but he'll never find another woman like me. Cool Chick Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Sedgwick I totally agree! My winter project this year was building an octagonal picnic table. It's pretty much done and looks fantasic! My ex couldn't hammer his way out of a wet paper bag. It makes me feel so good that I can do this on my own and be happy within myself for it. I'll be sitting at my fancy octagonal picnic table while my ex's deck rotts out form under him this summer. There are litterally holes in his deck and he won't fix them. Talk about lazy! I came across this quote that for me has a lot of meaning. "Don't let someone become a priority in your life, If you are only an option for them." Cool Chick a.k.a: Carpentriss in training
PinkRibbon Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 You guys are awesome! This is exactly what healing is all about....the little things. I thought the same thing last night about my ex not finding another woman like me. I actually had a man tell me last night that I was " a tall blond sexy goddess" with "such a sexy haircut" hahahahahahah And I looked in the mirror and thought damn I do look good. I had my new size 4 jeans on and black tight shirt from Hot Topic with the long billowy sleeves and my pointy toes spikey boots. I probably topped out at about 5"10 in those shoes. With the really blond short hair and black eyeliner. hahahahah All the workouts and just being myself have paid off. After 4 years of being put down because I don't look a certain way it sure felt good! Now I am off to clean my house and burn my incense and have a great day! Frog on them all for leaving us "goddesses"! ;)
