I thought it would be funny anyways to ask this because I'm so self-conscious, if I really liked a guy I would NOT let him see me without makeup ever. IF I was dating someone and slept over I would probably try and wake up earlier so I can fix myself up or hide myself in the morning and turn the other way etc.

Also, I'm almost 30... Whenever I write things of this nature people for some reason assume that I must be young, so just to clarify, I wanted to add in my age.

I was wondering, how long do you women wait before you let a NEW guy you're dating see you bare faced? I don't wear a ton of makeup, but I feel much better with it on...

I work out with boyfriends, shower with them, get ready for work in front of them at their place or mine...(all without makeup, of course). They all see me fresh-faced as soon as those events occur. :) Sometimes that's only 2 weeks in.

Right after the first shower together or the morning after, which ever comes first. ;)

I let him see it the first time we spend the night with each other.

There is NO way I'm getting up early and getting ready.

If I'm good enough to sleep with, I'm good enough with makeup or not.

I never really thought about it like that... Honestly It really wouldn't matter, If he didn't like it-Bye-Bye!:p

I'm good with or without make up.

Not shy about it.

Some dude handed me his number when I was walking to my car from the grocery store the other day- I had on no make up and my gym clothes on... that surprised me.

Oh man, sometimes a thin layer of sweat is as good as a couple layers of makeup...

Damn you all are brave. Or you can just sleep with the makeup on and hope some is still on the next morning...

Even if a guy likes me with no makeup on that doesn't meant that I MYSELF feel comfortable without it on. Even if a guy approaches me when I have no makeup on, that doesn't mean that I want to be seen without makeup on, I still feel "hotter" when I have it on.

Well, nothing wrong with that- my vanity and security has always been my hair. I feel that with short hair I wouldn't look at good.... so I keep it long. The last time I thought my hairdresser cut it too short I started adding fake pony tails to keep the length.:o

Understandable that everyone has a security blanket they want to take into public with them.

I go to the gym without make-up because I don't want to get acne from working out with it on... same with sleeping. I always take off my make up before bed or I will break out. Even if it's Matt Damon staying over- the make up comes off before bed...lol.

lol I am not female but I hate the way makeup looks, the opposite gender would be more attractive if they did not wear it.

cutegirl, if it concerns you a lot not to be seen without makeup, have you considered getting the permanent eyeliner? While it's not my thing, I've seen a couple of girls that have had it done. It looks pretty natural.

If you have it done dramatically, it will look odd when you age. If you have it done so it's more fine, it won't distort so much.

Actually. I think that men THINK they prefer a woman with no makeup but if it's applied really well you would not even know that she was wearing any. I think men PREFER women WITH makeup as long as it doesn't like she's wearing too much. Like guys can really tell anyways.

When I wear makeup I feel more assured of myself. I don't wear a lot of it, but I feel slightly more confident. In the same way I feel more confident when I'm wearing new undergarments (is that weird?), or a new outfit. I understand how you feel "hotter" with it on. But there are some things I don't want to worry about ALL of the time. And makeup is definitely one of them.

Someone, on another thread, mentioned a woman who woke up before her husband for YEARS so he never saw her without makeup. I'd HATE that. I'd always feel like I was hiding something...never able to just relax.

On weekend mornings, I want to be lazy and slow to start my day, not worrying about making sure I was awake first, and having to rush to put my makeup on.

And what about when you both wake up in the middle of the night for some cuddling and playtime when one or both of you can't sleep(assuming I'm not the only one who does this)? He'll see you then, right?

Eyeliner is not a fad. It's been around since the ancient Egyptian times, with kohl.

I'm not really into the permanent one... My skin is clear too, I don't have any acne or scars. I just like the smoky eyes and nude lips look but I like to make myself look "glowy" like Jlo. I need the whole works, luminescent glowy skin, bronzer, fill in my brows, glossy lips, mascara, highlighter in all the right places, contour my cheekbones a bit ... etc etc

It's not just the eyeliner, I need everything...

I like the glammed up look, like Kim Kardashian's makeup, the smoky eyes and nude lips but all out...

Naw, I can honestly say I would choose no makeup over makeup no matter how she looked without it, makeup doesn't make you look much better - I think its all a ploy by companies to get people to buy crap.

Have you read whats in that ****? **** I wouldn't want it in my house, let alone on someones skin I was going to be touching.

I have dated both types and as long as she doesn't look like a clown with her make-up, then she is fine by me.

Definitely, definitely true. SOOOOO true. Guys have no idea what it takes to look "natural"

That's a good look.

Most people look better with some makeup on, rather than none. Most men don't even realize when women are wearing quite a bit and think it's natural.

How about the semi-permanent lash extenders? This way, you can have a little something on, rather than be completely nude, although it sounds like your skin is nice when natural.

You have to admit, it's kinda funny... We so often hear complaints from women that the fashion magazines and the press and television present an unrealistic standard of beauty, and that our image of beauty is based on that unrealistic standard warping men's image of what is attractive toward an unnatural ideal.

But then when a man says, hey, leave off the makeup, everyone is telling him: oh no, you wouldn't want it that way...

I'm not claiming to know what's right or wrong or left or right, I just think it's amusingly confusing. ;)

Haha...I won't dispute that at all.

My pardon for my sexism but truthfully, most men aren't the most informed people, on the art of makeup. Many don't even realize that a woman doesn't necessarily have perfect skin, if foundation/powder are applied properly and they're good quality products.

If a woman is comfortable without makeup, then yes, I fully support the no makeup look. I go without sometimes too. On a daily basis, I barely wear much makeup. It doesn't mean I don't glam it up if I feel like it. Makeup should be all about fun and changing your look.

On the otherhand, if a woman isn't comfortable wearing no makeup, then there are ways and means to ensure that she's not completely makeup-less...ever... :)

I don't like too much makeup on me, especially a whole glob of it on. I prefer to use eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow to enhance my eyes. Add in a touch of lip gloss and I'm ready to go. Sometimes you don't need to waste 4 hours in front of the mirror just so you could look "natural". Aren't makeup suppose to enhance your features, to make you stand out more? It really creeps me out when certain people takes it to the xtreme. Look at Janice Dickenson, you could see her lipstick color a mile away. And the ways she does her cheeks, how much blush does she need? I understand she's a model, but she's pretty clueless when it comes to makeup that's for sure.
