Why do we want to hold someone and kiss etc. etc.??? What scientific reasoning is there for this??

I think it has something to do with wanting a deep connection with someone. I also think it's natural for most people to want to feel loved or cared about.

Caring, even non sexual human touch (such as from a mother to a child, etc.) floods the brain with chemicals that naturally boost mood and a feeling of well being. Numerous studies have been done on infants that illustrate what a fundamental need this is. Specifically, it's been proven that infants who had touch and contact tended to thrive, whereas infants without this kind of contact struggled for survival or even died. Studies have been done on healthy as well as sick humans to illustrate the power of touch. In short, people need people. ; ) Google it. Fascinating subject. Hope this helps.
