How bad is it when you...

Like make it obvious that you are trying to spend more time with someone and you try to play it off as some casual spur the moment type deal?

 

I was in class with a girl I'm trying to get to know better and after class I asked her if she was going to her next class (sometimes she doesn't go). And I told her that I'd go there too. She knows we go in opposite directions when we leave class by the way. She kind of laughed (more in a playful way i guess) and said "you'll go too?" and I kind of panicked and started stuttering (a little:p) and just said that I hadn't been around that area of the school either so I would go there to "check it out".

 

The walk and talk there was fine, full of enthusiasm and all that good stuff, so I'm not wondering about that in the least. I think it's pretty obvious to her right now that I kind of like her, and she seems to be reciprocating my actions. But I think when I told her I wanted to walk with her to her next class I kind of made it obvious when I came up with that crappy reason as to why I wanted to go with her, and on top of that I kind of stumbled as I dug it out of my head. Ah, well, it's not like it matters, we get along regardless. I was just wondering if my failed attempt at being slick about it would deduct "brownie points" or something? Although it's not like they're hard for me to earn...

First of all...thats very funny, and happens to SO many people

if the girl is a keeper, she won't hold that one embarrassing moment against you, you have to start somewhere right? My only caution would be to not try TOO hard...that might come off as kind of creepy...continue to talk to her, and if things keep going well, casually suggest hanging out on the weekend or something, you'll be able to tell if she's GENUINELY interested or if she is just being nice...if she doesn't seem interested...then so what, at least you know and you'll stop wasting your time
