How long do they take to heal? My boyfriend has them on both arms and says it takes a long time for them to go away. he shot for about 2 years and has been clean from june-dec and then I found out in dec he was shooting again when he relapsed, so lets say he was shooting for a month, would they still be there today?

No, they shouldn't be, unless he has some sort of disease that causes a depressed immune system, or something like diabetes that causes wounds to heal slower than normal.

JMO. I didn't hang out with heroin users when I was doing drugs, but the people I knew who shot up shot up anythign they could get their hands on, cocaine, they would even melt down crack and shoot it up mixed with lemon juice

Is your BF in rehab? a recovery program of some sort? NA at least?

Hi,

Yes, he will still have marks, but the marks should not be dark.

I'm going with B_O.. they should be healed by now unless he has something wrong with his immune system.

It has been over 2 months.. almost 3..

I googled healing track marks and found an interesting thread about healing the marks.. some say it takes week or so for the marks to go away..

Google healing track marks and go to about the 5th one down..

Also I hope you are having protected sex with him - even with oral sex - and that he is getting tested for hepatitis and HIV regularly.
