I have a few questions about online dating, but from a woman's point of view.

How often are you bombarded by email's from men? Of these emails, which ones are the ones that catch your interest? Once you are interested enough to actually go and look at the man's profile, what are the things that would warrant a return email?

I have a decent profile. I talk about the things I like (even if boring... I do not want them to think I am something I am not). I talk a lot about my son. I love him very much and he would be a great part of my life if this female were to choose to see me for extended periods of time. My profile is well written with proper spellings and punctuation and my pics are decent. I am an average guy. I am not Brad Pitt, but I am surely not Danny Davito. I have nice hair (no receding hair line and no grays at 30 years old. no hair dye either), dark eyes and well groomed facial hair. I have straight teeth/clean teeth and no tattoos. I do have pierced ears, though.

I hardly email, but when I do, I feel like it is someone I could connect with (according to their profile) and I do not get anything in return. I am careful to give long emails just in case its a fake account (I have read that some places have fake accounts. I do not understand why they do).

Anyways, any input or advice would be appreciated. I wish to increase my chances with a date.

I have gone on one date with a girl from this site and it was nice, for the most part, but she talked about her ex-husband a lot, so it kind of went dry half way through.

It might be the long emails that you send, to be honest. Keeping it kind of short and about her is the best way to go, by expressing your interest.

I've dated online and was much more willing to answer emails from blokes who asked me a specific question about my profile and why they were asking.

People like talking about themselves and often a curious question will prompt a curious response. Then you can get to know each other from there.

I dont write long emails and I always try to ask about something in their profile and comment that it is something we have in common.
