This is a little off topic, but the logic is interesting from some posters.

It seems that to some its not okay to physically harm someone that is lying to you repeatedly while cheating on you, but its okay for the cheater to cheat?

Is that it?

So, all I have to do is have an injury from household or yard work, blame it on my H, and then its okay if I cheat?

Gwen, I would advise keeping the visit as on the down low as you can get it. If he was the victim of a burst of violence like that, it could be that it was because of a Dday. Careful, girl. Look out for you and yours.

I would feel safest visiting him at the hospital, and of course would keep it on the DL as much as possible.

NID, I agree with you about the violence. But it's never okay to harm someone. A broken heart can heal, but damage done by a brawl can sometimes not heal. That's the difference. Both are wrong, but one has control over their heart healing more than injuries sustained from abuse.

Oh and yes GEL, I am trying to be strong here. I think it will hit home the most when I actually do see him--then I will know how for real it is.

I disagree. Psychological damage (which can accompany physical damage inflicted by another person, but is more often inflicted on its own) isn't as obvious, and can often take someone much longer to heal from.

Physical scars fade and wounded tissue heals in everyone- emotional scars can last a lifetime, and not everyone has the mechanisms to be able to deal with emotional damage. Why do you think places like LS exist?

my thinking is that both are abusive but with physical harm, maybe someone will go to far and KILL the person!!! too many people die from physical violence, but with psychological abuse there is at least a chance of recovery, which there may not be with physical violence.

Yeah, that's if you believe an unsubstantiated rumor that she pushed him down the stairs. And if that rumor is just that, a rumor, and she did not push him down any stairs?

Being ever the cynic, I can't help but notice very little here has been mentioned of the wife... seems to me that if this story were true, the woman would be arranging bail by now. Her child would be in family custody.

I am not declaring the whole story a hoax (although it does sound fishy to me), but an assault which leads to hospitalization would surely have some repercussions on the law enforcement side...

Gwynth I hope this all turns out well for you, and I do hope this story is not a cover for some "second honeymoon to Jamaica", but keep your guard up...

Apparently you aren't reading what I'm writing. Very little is known, so why would I know Anything about where the wife is? I did say it's just a rumor and not officially announced. I also said that we All know how the telephone game works--the story changes from one person to the next. So what is your point, and what are you trying to start? That's fishy to me, hun.

EASY NOW...I did write that I hoped it turns out well for you. I have read your posts, and I was just advising you to keep your guard up, that is ALL.

I was under the impression that sometimes people post here to obtain the perspective of others...Guess I was wrong.

As for trying to "start" anything, being hostile and defensive is more of a "start" than offerring an opinion and my honest advice, which was to look out for yourself (I know you say you are not emotionally atatched, but with baby on board, you have to be just maybe just a little?)

Anyhow, good luck to you, is that OK to write?

Very cute :) Yes, it's okay to write. I really haven't even thought about being emotionally attached to him since I'm pregnant. I'm trying to keep my mind occupied as much as possible, and writing on here helps. Thank you for your well wishes!

Hi Gwyneth, I can't say I have been following your story that closely, but I'm just going to throw this out there just cos it's what grabbed my attention:

He's supposedly been in the hospital for two weeks? For going down a flight of stairs? Maybe I'm a bit ignorant on the subject but what kind of severe injuries can one get from falling down a flight of stairs that would have one hospital-ridden for that long??

Broken bones, collapesed lung, skull fracture, hematomia(sp) and a number of other things, for someone his age.

Ah, true, I hadn't considered the age factor. I actually don't know his age anyway. Don't mind me! :bunny:

No!!! Why does he have tears then? I guess he's like me and cries from laughing so hard...:p

I'll use this instead:

Yeah, that's a good one.

I often compose on my e-mail & somehow I copy/pasted someone's quote into my e-mail & it showed the code for that little teary dood. Also, if you hover over the emote, the name will show.

Yeah, I did that after you said it. Well, I was trying to show tears, not LMAO!

Hope you don't mind Gwyn. You've never posted anywhere outside of The Other Man/Woman section. And some of your supporters might miss the possibly exciting news!

I wake up & can't get back to sleep so what else do I do but check out what's new on LS! LoL Ok, back to bed. I think I can get back to sleep now.

No worries, thank you Ms. Red :)

I never had a reason to share it in the OM / OW threads; it was kind of an off-topic kind of thing. I figured if someone asked how I was, like Lyssa did, then I would most likely say Twins is a possibility
