EC Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Heyyyy!! K so I have been dating a newbie guy. Straight to the point we met about 3 months ago..became intimate a month ago..and have just been having an all around good time. There has been no discussion of 'Where is this going' and I have just been riding the wave. He's sweet, we laugh, we get along, I love his friends, have met his family and he's just really fun to be around. I haven't brought up the 'where is this going' convo 1st because I kinda wanted him to bring it up (?) and 2nd because I know he's leaving and will be out of town for four months so I didn't want to make things uncomfortable. Everyday though I kinda like him more and more. I could possibly see something there developing. My worry is this..He's only had one girlfriend his whole life..They dated for 6 years..he's been single for only one..and they are still friends and talk almost daily. He said there is nothing there and that I have nothing to worry about. He constantly jokes that I'm his gf already but has never really asked. I don't want to be rebound girl..or keep him warm while he's lonely girl, one he uses till he leave in four months girl..but the more I analyze the more I think that's whats going on. I guess no one can really answer my question but I guess any advice would be welcome. Any thoughts..or ideas..or examples of similar situations would be helpful.

This is where your focus should be.. Have fun with it.. There are no guarantees.. some people are really over their ex.. some aren't.. It even goes as far as that some rebounds work as well.. Some don't.. Rebounds are not always a bad thing.. you did say they have been split up for a year even though they still talk right now that might not be a negative yet.. A year is long enough to move on and not got back to his past..remember that he is with you and not with her... Have you asked him why he still talks to her ? If there are no negatives that he is presenting then just run with it...
