Meaplus3 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I just found out that my dear granmother has passed..She was 95 year's old.. as strong as ox and lived on her own up until 91...I know it's a blessing as she had very bad diemetia.. and ended up passing from an upper respiratory infection.. however she was my Grandma.. and I loved her dearly. Her and I were so much like.. tenacious.. funny .. strong.. I feel such a loss right now..even though I new she was near the end. Just needed to share. Thank's AP:)
Miyamoto Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Many blessings. The way you speak of her tells me that she probably lived a full life, and did most everything she wanted to do. So she can pass forward with no regrets. Prayers for those she left behind.

I'm so worried about my dad right now..I should not be but I am because he is older.. he's been faithfully sitting at the nursing home with her for the past three year's.I know how much she meant' to him. curiousnycgirl Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 My heart goes out to you and your family in this time of mourning. While she is likely in a better place, that does not mean she didn't leave behind a void.

AP:) A beautiful man. I know I will be doing something similar when my parents pass. Death is getting closer and closer to me, but fortune has smiled on me, and let me prepare myself at each stage. Currently, my cousin has cancer and my last grandparent is preparing her final wills and testaments. My father has complained of bronchial pains. If you believe in God, or His scientific counterpart, this is the time that it matters...rely on it, trust it, and believe in something after...if not heaven, at least a deeper connection with what is true and right. I believe. A good person leaves even more when they pass. Your father may cry, but he will become stronger, and pass it on to you. And you will pass it on.

annieo Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 My Oma (German for grandma) passed away in October, 2005, and I still miss her a lot. I understand how you feel. It makes no difference that someone is older, lived a full and independent life, then passed peacefully and quickly. While these things give me comfort, I still just want to give her a call, get a recipe, chat, go to the mall and have a coffee...you know, see her and be with her again. Loss is loss, no matter how old someone is when they go. My condolences to you and your family. It's never easy. I still "talk" to my Oma sometimes, usually in my head, and I am sure she hears me. And I'll never forget her, nor will my kids, her grandchildren. That is her legacy, of which she could be proud.
s_n_d Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Im sorry about your grandmother, AP. Stay strong and SMILE. We all face this in our families; Family members being sick etc... My aunt at the moment has cancer. The doctors say it wont be long before.....you know... Ive just recently become close to her. I went to see her in Florida in the summer and although she was weak from the Chemotheraphy, she went out and bought me a dress and some jewelry. Everytime I see her she has a smile on her face. Our faith is strong and I know no matter what happens, Its all up to God now. Everything is in his hands...
