xpaperxcutx Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I initiated contact with my crush and asked him out. I gave him until wednesday to give me a reply. But now my mind is working overtime as to why he hasn't contacted me at all? I've told him I liked him and he has told me he liked me. But he's been really distant. Am I overthinking it, or did I just set myself up to be stood up?
EYECANDY000 Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 You may be over thinking it. He he has alrready expressed an interest then he still has a few days to reply. He may just be a little tied up. I would give someone a deadline though, just because of situations like this. I would ask if they are interested in going on on a certain date. just to make sure things are definate. You are sort of leaving everything in his hands, whether he will contact you or not.
latefragment Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 when did you talk to him, yesterday? What did you say, exactly. What did you invite him to do? Did you use text, voice mail, or email, or did you speak to him directly. We need more information

Fast forward two days to Sunday, when I texted him to ask him out.
Author xpaperxcutx Posted February 18, 2008 Author Posted February 18, 2008 I meant to say I wouldnt give someone a deadline though! Well basically I can't read this guy. Obviously I felt like I should give him a deadline to kind of see whether he would step up.

I think you are overreacting, at least give him until the end of your deadline (Wednesday) to accept your terms before you start thinking.
Blue Eyed Brain Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Deadlines are usually a no-no. It usually works out badly. However, you are in the thick of it and now need to wait till Thursday (all of Wednesday) to get your answer. Even then, he may not respond. Next time, just go up to the person and ask them out. Worse thing is they say no and you look them right in the eye with a big smile and say "Okay, thank you."

But I need to be a bit assertive with this guy. There are guys out there who likes to be chased. And like I can't go up to the guy and ask him. We've only recently met and like I don't really live close to him or anything.
