Star Gazer Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Ex had told me I could expect something to be delivered on V-Day. I waited all day for something to arrive. He kept calling and calling, "Is it there yet? Is it there yet?" He was concerned, saying that I couldn't leave work without it because I had to take it home with me. It never came. Finally he told me that it was perishable and told me what it was - one of my favorite things in the world - a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries. YUMMMMMYYYY!!! I won't mention the company's name here, but it's very well known and based out of my area. I heard last night of SIX OTHER WOMEN who I know or know someone I know who didn't get their damn strawberries. WTF? They let us all down. I can't imagine how many people across the country were let down as well. was like a sad little puppy dog waiting at the door for the delivery man who never came. And now the company won't answer their phone - forcing us to leave messages and send mean emails. They better make up for this BIG TIME! I want my damn berries!
Art_Critic Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 He plunged and plunged and snaked and snaked, all to no avail. I have a guy coming out this afternoon to roto-root the damn thing. You have a gyno that does house calls? ... I didn't have a V-day disaster so I will spare you the details...
Author Ruby Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 Oh a bouquet of chocolate strawberrys!!! How delicious! Maybe they can redeliver to your home?

Author Ruby Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 Well my disaster goes like this My boyfriend turned up at my house with a beautiful bouquet of roses and lillies and a bottle of my favorite prefume and took me to a very expensive restaurant. He then started bitching at me as I couldnt eat my lamb as rare as it turned up and I ended up walking out of the restaurant as he was getting pickier and pickier. What a horrible end to a lovely night! I tried calling him today and he rejected my call! Men!

Sheesh, he could've kept his mouth shut fergawdsake. Side note - I can't eat lamb. It tastes like innocence to me.

sunshinegirl Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 This year wasn't a disaster, but are previous disasters fair game? One year my long-distance boyfriend sent me.... socks. For V-Day. Ugly gray ankle-length socks!! He turned out to be gay. And going way back into the archives, in high school the closest I came to having a boyfriend was with this guy Aaron. Apparently he went V-Day shopping with his buddy and bought a bottle of perfume. Unbeknownst to me, Aaron was torn between me and a senior (we were sophomores). His buddy asked him who the perfume was for and he said "I don't know yet!" He decided to give it to her. I was crushed!

Lauriebell82 Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I didn't get to see my boyfriend yesterday directly on v-day. I'll be seeing him tonight when I drive to where he lives and we are going out to dinner. Hopefully it wont be a disaster. I have a previous disaster story though. Before I met my bf I was dating this guy for a few weeks prior to Valentines Day. He came up to visit me at college the weekend before valentine's day and we had such a wonderful visit. We made plans for v-day for a romantic dinner and then a quiet night at home. I was so excited!! So then he got hired at a new company a few days after our weekend together. I came home on valentine's day and waited for him to pick me up. He didn't come. He didn't call either. I called him a few times and he never called back. The next day after crying all night for being stood up he called and told me that he didn't want a relationship now because he found out he had to work on the weekends and couldnt see me anymore.
blind_otter Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I was casually seeing 2 different guys, one a little more serious than the other, when I was a freshman in college. The more serious one hadn't called me in a few days and ended up calling me the day of valentine's day asking me to go out with him. I already had plans with guy #2, but I rearranged them and saw guy #2 early in the day, and made plans to see guy #1 in the evening. Well guy #2 had creeped me out the night before, so I dumped him the morning of valentine's day. Then when I met up with guy #1 he was pissing me off, acting really casual about things. So I dumped him that evening. I ended up having 2 breakups on valentine's day that year.
4givrnt4gtr Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 hnmmm last year Vday sucked too (im starting to hate the damn day). I had been dating this guy for 2 months almost. On vday he came over to my apartment with flowers, wine, fancy takeout...and gifts...all out this guy. SO he was sweeping me off my feet, telling me how wonderful it was to have met me and how happy he was with me. less than a week later he broke up with me saying he wasnt ready for a relationship. I later found out he had been cheating on me for awhile... loooovely.
Author Ruby Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 How can a man do all of that and be cheating? Men make me sick! lol
whichwayisup Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I called a friend, he was going to get me and my H hockey tickets for lastnights game, but by 2pm, he called and said he didn't have any. So, that was a let down in a way. (my team lost anyway, so now it doesn't matter) We had a nice night, I cooked a roast beef, had veggies, salad and potatoes too. Chocolate and sex for dessert. I won't mention the company's name here, but it's very well known and based out of my area. I heard last night of SIX OTHER WOMEN who I know or know someone I know who didn't get their damn strawberries. WTF? They let us all down. That company should be sued! Unbelievable! You'd think of ALL the days not to mess up, it would be on V-Day.
curiousnycgirl Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 My worst valentines day disaster was many years ago. I had a date scheduled with a guy I was seriously crushing on - so I was psyched. However I was the analyst to the CFO of a major wall street firm, and we declared bankruptcy that day! I had the SEC in one room, major investors in another and the Treasurer of the company crying in his office. I was totally stuck. I kept calling him saying 1 more hour, and he was totally cool about it. Unfortunately at 10 pm he refused to give me anymore time, and we never did go out. I didn't accept another date for Valentines Day until about 8 years later (us financial types are very superstitious).
Walk Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 One of my worst valentines days happened several years ago. I worked second shift and my ex worked first at the time, plus we were pretty broke, so my expectations for anything costing money were extremely LOW. Anyway, V-day comes around. I got out of work early, he was at the bar with his friends getting drunk. Spending money on beer and appetizers like we were filthy rich. Buying his friends drinks and meals. I get there, my ex offers me the leftovers of his cold food. And he won't leave the bar. He wanted to hang out with his friends that night. Finally we leave. He didn't buy me anything for valentines day. Not even a card. He claimed we were "too broke" for him to get me anything. We get home and the house is trashed. Beer bottles all over the place. He was supposed to do dishes (his turn), and he hadn't touched them. I was soo pissed at him.
