I bought my SO a card and a little gift for Valentine's day....and it hit me..we hadnt actually talk about plans for Vday!

Anyhow I asked him if I would be seeing him tomorrow and he said "sure"...so im THINKING he doesnt really put much thought on the holiday....

So now im thinking...should i still give him the card and gift? Im thinking if he really isnt all that into the holiday, it'll be a bit...awkward per say...what do you all think??

You bought the card to tell him how you feel and let him know he is special on V day. No worries! It was not done so he would do something special for you.

Now, that does not mean that it will not make him feel bad that he did nothing for you. I hope he does. If he mentions he feels bad he did nothing - then tell him not to worry, you would love a nice dinner out this weekend.

A lot of people dont really think much about V Day , but he would feel like you at least thoought of him. Give it to him!

Side note: It's "per se" .

In case if you need to write a business type letter I wouldn't want you to make the same mistake :)

Yeah give him the card, I'm sure he will be giving you one too. And then it would be really embarassing if you held back. After all the break ups, it is a nice vote of confidence on your part.;)

I'd hand it over only if he does his first. Less embarassing.

Uhmmm...

I would put it in my purse, and then if he gives you a card or gift you can do the same...if not.....then I wouldn.t

What's the return policy?

I'd give it to him. If he didn't get you anything and feels bad... well, sucks to be him. I'd think at the very least you should get your SO a card.

Most men could care less about Valentines Day but I think think we can at least make the effort to get a card and spend that night with our SO.

(I found this out the hard way a few years back :p)

?? We've never broken up...not sure what you're refering to.

So, we are going out tonite, after all. We are currently planning where to. I think i will give it to him anyway, i mean, he is making the effort to take me somewhere thats meaningful to me (he's planning to take me to a restaurant that makes food from my country), so why not right?

Thank you for all your responses! I actually thought of doing the whole keep the card and gift in the bag til he gave me something and if he didnt then i wouldnt...but...naaahhh
