Chauncey Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 So now that I've suggested to one person what they should do for their V-Day gift idea, I was wondering if any of you would be willing to help me with mine. Some of you may know of my situation with my girlfriend, and if not, please see here:http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t140645/ (It's a bit long, and I do apologize). Either way it was my birthday this past weekend and she had a visit from Aunt Flow, so I never did get a little "something extra" for the special day. We haven't really been completely intimate in the last couple of months and I hope that changes come Thursday. To be frank I'm not sure what I want to get her. She told me she doesn't want me to spend a lot of money on her, as she knows I'm trying to move and wants me to save. I already have ordered a bouquet to be delivered to her office on Thursday. She has planned the rest of the night for us and I'm suppose to relax. I will probably take her out to dinner after the event we are attending and picking her up some Godiva. I planned on making her a card (based one one from her favorite film Billy Madison). I want to get her something else, but am all out of ideas. She loves jewelry, but I want to get her something different and unique. She has enough perfume and the like so that's out as well. I was thinking of getting her a gift card towards Frederick's of Hollywood but I'm wondering if she will take that the wrong way. Would any of you who are women enjoy a gift like that? Or would you feel like your boyfriend/husband/lover really gave you the gift for themselves? Need your input. Thank You.
EYECANDY000 Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 My perspective , is getting a gift card for Fredreicks is basically a gift for the guy. Its because he wants to see his g/f in something sexy. If she loves wearing lingerie then give her the gift card. If my b/f gave me a gift card to Fredericks I would accept it of course but I would think he wasnt that creative when it came to selecting a gift
ElvenPriestess Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Well I can't speak for everyone here, but gift card to Fredrick's? I LOVE it. It's one of my fav. stores, and I think it's a great idea. She doesn't even have to get lingerie, maybe some cute thongs, underwear, whatever that she'd like. That type of gift can work for her, or you, or both. Stuffed animals, chocolates, flowers, they're nice, very generic. But the g/c? Way to go!

I was browsing the site and they sell everything from track suits, to tops, to shoes. I'm not sure what else I can get her. I'm not looking to spend so much on a gift as I have purchased her other things. Any other ideas?
Art_Critic Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 You are already doing flowers, dinner, chocolate, a handmade card and spending the evening with her.. You seem to be doing enough... Don't cheapen it by trying to buy her... The handmade card is a great addition.. I have one that my wife made me our first Valentine's together.. It is still displayed in the glass case in the den... If you were going to get her jewelry or something else then I think you need to drop something like the chocolate...
whichwayisup Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 You seem to be doing enough... Don't cheapen it by trying to buy her... Yes, if you do TOO much, it will put her off and she'll think you're kind of freaky...
Author Chauncey Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 So yay or nay on the card. I just figured she would like to treat herself, she doesn't have to buy lingerie and I'm not implying she should. Do girls like getting music dvds?

What happened to the show??? *disappointed* Alright, here is my take on Fredericks. The store rocks and they do carry more plus sizes. However, they don't carry very plus sizes. So if she is a larger woman she might be offended. Thus, I would refrain from any unintended insult. The cd is a nice thought. Perhaps you could make a compilation cd that references songs that make you think of your time together and special moments. Songs with her name in it, a happy gilmore song to mark the homemade Valentine, some other funny moments and all around good love songs mixed with some funny songs. That would be from the heart and mean alot. Flowers and a Valentine is enough. Add dinner and the cd and just about right for a committed couple. The strip show is still a great idea, but maybe next year. Rock on you funny Valentine.

Actaully I was thinking of getting her a concert dvd of one of her favorite cd's. I made a slideshow of pictures of us and songs that mean a lot to the both of us for her birthday. It made her cry and to be honest, I'm not sure I can top that again. As far as Frederick's, I'm assuming she will be able to fit in most of the items they offer. She's plus, but not plus plus. I think she wears about a size 14 in dresses. Would that be considered an x-large? I'm thinking I might just go the route of: dinner, homemade card, Godiva Chocolates, and DVD. As for the show, I am actually still seriously thinking about it. I'm going to stop by Spencers and actually check it out. She said she wanted some chocolate for Valentines Day (and flowers) so I was thinking of picking up some Body Chocolate for later Thanks for the help.
Author Chauncey Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 So it seems that the dvd I planned on getting her is sold out almost everywhere and to be honest, I'm not sure what else I could get her this late in the game. Do you think it wise to go with my first choice, and buy her a gf to Fredericks?

Do you think it wise to go with my first choice, and buy her a gf to Fredericks? Chauncey, Is she having sex with you yet? I would not appreciate a gift card to Fredericks or any similar sort of gift from a guy I was not interested in getting naked with. Unless your situation has drastically changed, I think you should be doing less, not more. This girl has established quite firmly that she does not respond to your gesture so why keep making bigger ones?
Author Chauncey Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 No, we've tried a couple of times since she broke her ankle, but have never actually finished the deed. I'm hoping Thursday will change that. I ended up getting her a cookbook she's been wanting, plus Godiva chocolates, and a homemade card (which cost me about $20 to make). Think I should be covered. Oh and she just got the flowers I sent her today.

You are spending days agonizing over having just the right present for this woman and she doesn't even reciprocate the pleasure you give her sexually. It doesn't matter if her ankle was broken or if she has her period or if she is tired, blah, blah, blah... These are not reasons to go months without sex... especially when she is completely willing to allow you to "service" her! What you are doing is tremendously damaging to your self-esteem. I am sure there is a woman out there who will love you and want to touch you!
