Green Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 My roommate never takes the trash out or cleans the kitchen. I want to just beat the guy to death. I have spoken with the guy numerouse times and it does nothing.
lovelorcet Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 This should be no problem for the HMA. Your roommate must know that you are the HMA and is most likely expecting that you will bring home enough chicks to do the dishes.

Author Green Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 how about some advice I can use people. I mean maybe there is nothing I can do. I already spoke to him multiple times and that hasn't helped...
Kamille Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 how about some advice I can use people. I mean maybe there is nothing I can do. I already spoke to him multiple times and that hasn't helped... Move out? I was confronted to roomie from hell, and it really is the best solution.

Kamille Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I say get your own place... get a smaller place but at least no one gets on your nerves.. It's too bad KMT, the horniest man alive, missed out on the opportunity to move into Lizzie's basement appartment. LS would have become an erotica novel.
Author Green Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 I wish beating him up was the answer. Moving out will be a real pain. I'll have to find some one to take over my lease, and find a new place to live. I don't know if its so bad I want to go through all that crap. I will be moving out though I gaurantee it but that won't happen for another few months. As for living by myself, its just to expensive. I have a nice place with my own bathroom and a washer and dryer, cable and High speed internet for less the a one bedroom without these things. I'm going to look for new room mates who are cleaner and more respectful.
Enema Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Well the garbage one is easy. Get a routine so that he takes out the garbage every Wednesday or something. If it's not out by Thursday morning... you place the garbage bag in his room.
LoveLace Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 OMG I sooo know how you feel. My roommate's gotten a little better lately, but he has a tendency to think that doing dishes once a month or so is enough. Also a tendency not to clean up after himself and leave trash around. I've repeatedly gotten on him and sometimes he improves for a minute and goes back to lazy. It's frustrating.

Hes out in the living room playing video games now. I am going to purposly go out of my way to annoy the living hell out of him.
D-Lish Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 In college I had a room mate who went insane. She fell into a major depression, was messier than pig pen. She had a cat that started peeing on my furniture. SHe never cleaned the litter box and the cat would pee in her bed and she would sleep in it. She also never flushed the toilet- no matter what she left in the bowl. I had to force her to move out and after she left I went in to clean up her room and found a bunch of empty perscription bottles for Lithium. That explained a lot. I also had a weird guy room mate that I had to kick out because he would get drunk and try and come into my room in the middle of the night. He broke in after he left and stole a bunch of my and my other female room mate's panties..... I am glad I live alone now.
SeraBella Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 If you're looking to annoy him, you could try this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXyxOIR-_Is it may be a mess to clean up, though. I lived with 5 other girls for 3 years in college and that was more than enough roommate crap for a lifetime. We never found a way to resolve any problems. It ended with everyone keeping everything to oneself and not sharing anything. Things still got disgusting from the lazy ones, though.
Art_Critic Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 We never found a way to resolve any problems. It ended with everyone keeping everything to oneself and not sharing anything. Things still got disgusting from the lazy ones, though. That is the norm I think... I had a roommate when I was in my early 20's that used to drink out of my opened beer bottles.. If I just opened a beer and it was on the table he would pick it up and drink out it and it was then his.. lazy bastard.. If fixed it by spitting in each beer I opened for myself.. He never did it again... Sorry KMT If he won't listen then you either learn to live with it or call him out on the carpet about it and hope for change.. Putting all the garbage in his room might work...

I have spoken with the guy numerouse times and it does nothing. You've complained about this in the past, so I do hope that you take the necessary steps to fix the situation. When your lease it up and you are ready to move out, try and shack up with a woman. Lets see if she can handle the HMA.
Author Green Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 first off to D-Lish thats hott! and to every one else thanks...
D-Lish Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 first off to D-Lish thats hott! and to every one else thanks... haha. I knew the panty stealing story would wind you up KMT.
Author Green Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 haha. I knew the panty stealing story would wind you up KMT. you are correct in your assertion
D-Lish Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I am surprised you didn't want more details about what the panties looked like. I bet it would piss off your room mate if you stole all his underwear.
Lyssa Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 I bet it would piss off your room mate if you stole all his underwear. He'd be beyond pissed off - unless in some twisted way, that turns him on!! If you have enough saving, it's better to move out and let someone else deal with his selfish being! I can't believe how inconsiderate some people can be!
Author Green Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 Yeah well I can afford to live alone but I save over 6k a year by having a room mate. I'm just going to wait till the lease is over and be more crafty in finding my next room mate. Truthely I shouldn't be going this crazy just because he mess's the kitchen up and never takes the trash out. I mean it could be alot worse as in D-Lishs situation. But even though I know it could be alot worse and I shouldnt lose my head over it, I am... I've got a growing anger over it all. And D-Lish I do want to know about those panties, what kind were they. Did he leave any behind? If he didnt... does that mean you wern't wearing panties the next day... If he did leave some panties behind, did you wear them or burn them>...
mental_traveller Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Are you the owner or named tenant of the property? In that case, can't you just give him his notice and evict him? If that's too difficult, then you are going to have to demonstrate to him that there will be unpleasant consequences for being messy/noisy. Tell him in advance, then do it e.g. take all his belongings and place them outside the property; change the locks etc.
Lola180 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I completely feel your pain. I live with a disgusting roommate that never cleans, smells bad, and avoids his own bedroom because his bed is covered in moldy fast food wrappers. Instead he sleeps on the living room couch, which now has a stench of grease and unwashed human hair. I would flat-out tell him to take out the trash. Stand next to it and tell him, "Dude, the trash needs to be taken out." Some people need constant reminding. I also leave notes around the house - "Please clean the bathroom," and "Please take out the garbage." Before he shaved his head, he would leave hairballs the size of rats in the bathtub, and never clean them no matter how many notes i left. I would eventually pick them up (with wads of toilet paper) and put them on his bed. It's gross, but better than having them stuck to my toes in the shower. And I agree: living alone is the way to go. Get out while you still can!!
