(better than the alternative:laugh:) I really don't see myself as giving up my independance and settling down. So I still want to be attractive to women so as to have good times. So what qualities do you (ladies) find attractive in such a man? Granted a 27 year old girl is unlikely to desire a 50 year old, I'd expect the range to be 40-59;) But I'm interested in replies from any age. Thank You

Maturity (not age but in spirit) - they can take care of themselves but would like to have a companion (not a nurse made or nanny) 3. Confidence - no sexier quality than a man who knows who he is and likes himself 4. Hair on his head but little anywhere else (clean shaven every where) 5. Neatly dressed (even if it's a t shirt, shorts and flip flops 6. A giving heart to the woman he shares his life with 7. Intelligence to know when NOT to speak and when to advise

Ewwww! By the way, OP, I was divorced at age 48 and started to date at age 50. Quite a number of women I knew ranging in age from those in their 30s to those more my age signalled interest. The rest of BEB's necessary qualities are pretty spot-on, especially the last one about knowing when to listen and keep your mouth shut.

In my day a "dude" was a wannabe cowboy of questionable sexual orientation working on a sham ranch for tourists.

I have 18-25 year olds hitting on me all the time (And I am 38). I think it's more or less how you carry yourself. Age gaps are really more or less attributable to your state of mind, not necessarily your age. The only issue I have with younger women are where they are at mentally. If they're mature in their outlook on life then all is good. If they're immature, well, I'd say steer clear of them. The only advice I would give to older people is don't let yourself go! Take care of your body, work out (it makes you look good and gives you more energy). Like it or not, we're shallow beings. Men especially. If you want to attract an attractive woman, you yourself need to be in good shape. That or you better have an overwhelmingly great personality Cheers.

But kind of creepy to make it sound like it's your goal just because they are 18.

If a hot chick I meet ends up being an 18 year old High Schooler, then yes I will be happy. It will also change my expectations on what I hope to get out of the relationship.
