Calling someone for the first time....best time to call?

So, I gave this guy on a dating site my phone number, and he waited a week to call, which is no big deal, but I'm sleeping last night and he called me at 10:40pm. I thought it was kind of strange myself to call someone for a first time after 10 at night, but thought I would bounce the idea off you guys.

 

Oh, I didn't answer the call, as I was tired and had been sleeping for a half hour, but he did leave a mesg.

I would definately say that is too late to call. I would never.

 

I say making that call around 7 or so is a good time, maybe even 8. I dont know what you should do about it, but I just wanted to give my opinion.

Call him back and chat about whatever.

 

In the process of the conversation mention that by the way, 10:40 was too late for him to call you, since you don't answer your phone that late. Suggest that next time he call before X (you can fill in your preferred time).

 

If it was an honest flub on his part, he'll call you at more appropriate times in future. If he's an insensitive jerk, he'll call you late again. If he does that, then tell him to please not call you again.

Thanks for the responses. I haven't called him back yet ( nerves I guess, I haven't dated much and the thought is kinda nerve racking ) I was thinking maybe Thurs around 7ish. Then making a joke that he must be a night owl to call ppl late at night.
