Any thoughts on how I should handle this?

I have liked this girl for about a year and a half (we are also close friends). She is ridiculously nice, very cute, and is a very open happy be-herself type girl. For the first year I liked her she had a boyfriend and I don't **** with that, but for the last couple of months she was abroad and was hooking up with other guys. She came back and officially broke it off with him and I guess I jumped the gun... after about 2 weeks back I told her I liked her... she said it was flattering but she wasn't emotionally able to do anything.

 

Great, thats cool, I'm not really devestated or hurt but I still want her. My question is, since we are friends, how can I act so that when she possibley does think about moving on and being ready for that, I will be the person to come into her head. Do I act chill? How can I make it less awkward when we hang out? Arghhh help help help

your best bet here is to back off a bit. Seem uninterested although still nice. Give her the space she needs to figure things out. If you try to be too buddy buddy with her, thats where she's gonna place u, as her friend. But if you act a bit distant, but still nice, it will get her curious and (maybe) interested in the long run.

Move onto somebody else. Trying to act like something else to get her will not work. You told her you liked her, before u 2 had a chance to get anywhere. It's over.

If she's a happy, cute, lovely girl, she'll have a kneejerk reaction to NOT hurt your feelings, so she'll say something like she isn't emotionally ready for a R...it's nice, cause she respects you and likes your friendship enuf to do that, but she isn't interested in you as a boyf!
