commitment issue???

i dated my best friend for 3 years...we recently broke up over thanksgiving and now he is in a new relationsip with a girl at his college ( we go to different schools about 3 hours away) i know that some of the reason was because we were so far apart all the time...but i remember telling himi when we were still together that i felt like i was married and he said we cant have that we are 18 and 19 yrs old we shouldnt feel like we are married...2 weeks after i told him that he broke up with me...mainly he said it was because i was feeling married and we shouldnt feel that way so he decided for us to c other ppl and that down the road we can still get back together he also told me he wants me in his life and always wants to be my friend we talked everyday after we broke up for about a month...when he talked to me almost everyday he would cry and tell me he made a mistake but he couldnt date me right now cuz he was in a relationship ( which i think is a rebound) he stopped crying and telling me this when i started crying and saying i wanted him back which i never should have done but i did....we talk once in a while now i mean we are both extremely busy with school and extra cirriculars like me i play college softball so im constantly practicing but i no he still cares he said he always will its really confusing to me....he told me im the only girl he ever felt strongly about and had an emotional connection to and the other girls he dated was just for fun...like i said before he has a new girlfriend and i dont have a boyfriend not that i dont want one its just that i havent found that guy yet...also i was the longest relationship he has been in 3 years the other ones were 3 months i think he has a commitment issue....is their any chance he still thinks about me or anything like that im still confused over this and its been 2 months we dont talk every day anymore just once in awhile HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'll I don't think that he has committment issues, because the two of you been dating for three years. If anything I just think that he's confused. It feels very ironic or crazy that he would break up with you because you told him that you feel that the two of you are married. He can't tell you how or why you should feel a certain way. That is an excuse to breakup with someone. It's not like you ask him to marry you. He's still young.
