Something about that picture reminds me of Lisa Hartman Black. I think she played on some TV shows and is married to country singer Clint Black.

Ok, since you both claim to be so honest, I'll ask you. Did you think I was too thin when you met me? Undies, you never really said on my thread. So I want you to both tell me the truth. Put your money where your mouth is.

Secondly, I agree with you 100%. I hate, hate, hate, PC "rainbow" crap like you said. It's probably why I was drawn to you in the first place. I'm drawn to anyone who is not PC. I've always been that way. To me, PC=Phony. And I despise phonies.

Oh, one more thing...I've always wondered. Is that you in your avvy? If so, you should be modeling. You're absolutely gorgeous.

Okay,

If you promise not to punch me (although I think I could take you down ). Yes, you need to EAT, EAT. Kind of funny, a Southern woman telling a Jewish woman to EAT, EAT.

You could use a few (like 10-15 extra pounds). Although as I have said you are beautiful. Although slightly underweight it was not hauntingly scary. I did not feel the need to shove that sweet potato pie down you throat.

So be honest back...my butt really is huge isn't it?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now I know you're a real honest friend. And that was funny about a Southern woman telling a Jewish one to EAT. Very funny. I know. I'm looked at as an oddity in my family.

And no, your butt was perfect. I swear. I saw you as you got out of your Jeep! You're adorable. You have a really cute figure. I'm not kidding. I would tell you if I thought you needed to eat less of that delicious sweet potato pie of yours. I'd trade figures with you in a minute! I swear on my father's grave. And I never say that unless I truly, truly mean that.

And thank you AP. What nice things to say. Truly. Very sweet. You touched me. But you haven't seen my underweight body!:p:laugh:

How old is your daughter by the way? Wow, you do have your hands full.

You made me cry, AP. Thank you so much. I'm not only PMS now but yeah, thinking about my middle age status a lot lately...sucks. But it's better than the alternative as my mother always has reminded me.

I love hearing about moms like you. I was watching some stars being interviewed recently about what it's like being "stuck" at home because of the writer's strike and I wanted to throw up. They all said how great it was to spend more time with their kids, BUT, etc. etc. BUT? Wow.

Yes, you'll struggle. We all do in our own ways, but it's still our duty and obligation to be parents FIRST. I mean we did make that choice. We need to teach them and protect them as much as we can. But most of all we need to show them how much we love them. We need to stop what we're doing and listen and fully engage. Not always easy. I know. I have to tell myself all the time that I need to do that. And I do.

I'm envious of those who do it without even thinking about it. It seems to be just second nature to some.

But we also need to have a life of our own. Our lives shouldn't stop just because we have kids.

Thank you, AP. No need to apologize to my little PMS self.

I love this thread by the way. We can really say what we mean.

I'm PMSing, teary-eyed thinking about my ruined relationships with my sister and my mother and my grandmother too. (Grandma is 96 or so.) Sucks.

I'll be fine tomorrow. I just have to get this out of my system once a month. Really stinks.

I think I need plastic surgery too. Eye-lift advice anyone?

Honestly NO!!! ...and I have seen and dicerned your every flaw. :p

I don't even understand how you would come to that conclusion.

No sweetie, and I did notice you mentioned needing 'work done' you don't need facial work done. It is nice. You have great skin and look so young.

We are our own worst critics.

I want full facial laser resurficing. Do you think I should get it? Or is this my insecurity? I bought some beer this evening and my ID was passed around as a party favor. This might be my furture test for under the knife consideration. Bizzarre.

Full laser resurfacing? Whaaa? Are you insane? NO, I don't think you should get it...duh! It's your insecurity. Trust me.

I didn't get that stuff about the ID. It was passed around? Why? And to whom? Were they passing it around because they couldn't believe your age? I mean come ON. You look years younger, Undies. And you know it.

AP, I didn't see Death Becomes Her...doesn't sound like a movie I should watch! At least not in my present state of mind. ;) But you're so good for my ego. Thank you, AP!

Hmmm.... I pick and choose what to be honest about.

I have a friend who put on a bit of weight- and she asked if I noticed and I said no. I didn't want to hurt her feelings- and she still looked great- so I lied. Weight is such a sensitive issue.

When she asks me her opinion about behaviour related issues (ie: did she over react to something her bf did) or something along those lines- I am honest.

Here is one thing I don't do anymore- I won't ask a question unless I am prepared to hear the truth.

Do you guys think my hat looks silly in my avatar?

lol.

This thread is called "Do people say what they mean?"

Yes, sometimes they DO. And that's why I'll probably be banned from this site.

So if you don't hear from me again, you'll know why. It's because some of us can't say what we mean without repercussions.

Thanks but I'll take the damn repercussions before I'm edited and gagged when I haven't even attacked anyone.

Was I on topic?

Posted
I find this so damn confusing.

People either don't say or communicate what they want or really don't want then somebody has to guess or assume what they want or don't want.

Even worse some people just ignore what people say because perhaps they are one of the people mentioned above and want people to guess what they want or are afraid to say what they want or don't want.

This just makes a mess of everything.

Then there are feelings involved if you tell someone their butt looks fat in those pants when they asked if their butt looks fat.

Well your butt does look bigger in those pants..... then you are evil for saying what you feel or see.

This screws up so many things on so many levels in any type of R.

Why can't people tell the truth and those that hear it believe it?

Fear. Insecurity. Manipulation (not wanting to give up power)
