Phateless Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Anybody else feel like they have an almost uncanny intuition for when your friends need you? I saw my phone ring at 11:10 at night just now, and I silenced it, then immediately called my friend back. Some part of me just KNEW that it was something important and specific, and it was. My friend picked up the call with "Boy am I glad you called me back!".
Nemo Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Anybody else feel like they have an almost uncanny intuition for when your friends need you? Yesssss!!!!! But then I realised that I don't have any friends. Still, it was pretty uncanny whilst it lasted.

ElvenPriestess Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I get that with my close friends. Actually sometimes I'm even prompted to call some one who I was just thinking about, and they tell me they were so glad to see it was me, needed me to be there. ESP or something. Who the heck knows.
Trialbyfire Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 This happens quite often with one of my oldest friends. We call each other up when the other person is thinking about calling. It's like a subtle form of mind control. She scares me.
Art_Critic Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I have a feeling about this thread How about where you dream of an old friend and they call you the next day ?
lindya Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 At my darkest moment ever, which I wasn't talking to anyone about, the phone went. "I just got a really bad feeling about you. How are things?" "I'm fine..." "No you're not." "Waahhhhh...." I type this, and she (my closest friend/twin - she's not really my twin, it just feels like it) texts me midway through. To be fair, we do text eachother a lot, and I type on LS a lot so the two things are bound to coincide, but it's still funny to hear from her just as I'm in the middle of writing about her. I've had that intuitive thing to a milder extent with other friends, but with this particular friend it's like she has some kind of window into my soul. I haven't told her about my LS habit, but she probably knows all the same. Oh ****...actually she probably does.

My friend picked up the call with "Boy am I glad you called me back!". Well this held true for me this morning.. I am having a very difficult day and it was so strange because my bestfriend who I have not talked with in over a week called me to see if I was ok....she had a feeling I was struggling...she was so right on, I found it so strange that she just new..I was very comforted by her call. AP:)
marlena Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Yes, intuition definitely exists and I have a "feeling" that women are much more intuitive than men. I often get a sixth sense about things that are happening or about to happen. The thing is it's always about bad things. Now why is that, I wonder? The day my mother had her heartache I woke up knowing something bad was going to happen to my parents. I kept calling and calling and I got no answer. I had to go to work so I asked my sister who doesn't work to keep trying to contact them. When I got home, the phone rang. It was my sister, telling me my mother had a heartache and was in the ICU. Sometimes it is a sort of a hunch or other times it is a vague feeling of unrest. Still other times, I feel like I am a mind-reader. Definitely odd.
Trialbyfire Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Do you know when intuition or possibly calculated risk has helped me a lot? It's avoiding speeding tickets. Many times I've had a bad feeling and slowed down, even though I have a radar detector and sure enough, there's been either a ghost car or a speed trap further ahead.
EnigmaXOXO Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 One time, when my daughter was only seven, her father and I were down stairs late one night watching a movie. About 12:30 at night, she comes down the stairs rubbing the sleep from her eyes and asks: “Mommy, who was on the phone?” “No one, honey. You were just dreaming.” So I get up to walk her back upstairs to bed ... and just then the phone rang. ONCE. When my daughter was little, she was always doing and saying things that scared the living bajezus outta me although I would never let on in front of her. Would just give the ol’ Mommy speech and explain it away so she wouldn’t be frightened ... or better yet, so I wouldn’t have to consider the alternative! And I have to wonder if all children aren’t born with an uncanny intuition that we adults eventually repress when we chalk it up to coincidence or just a child’s imagination. Funny, but my mother has always been that way, too. Could never get away with anything!

Nemo Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Yes, intuition definitely exists and I have a "feeling" Where does it manifest itself? Can you actually touch it?

My friend picked up the call with "Boy am I glad you called me back!". Yes! My intutition always been pretty strong with most things. A couple of months ago, I decided to leave my cell phone on while charging at night. When I got up in the morning I had a missed call at about 4am from my brother who is overcoming a battle with cancer and a host of other illnesses that came with the treatment. He was feeling very dizzy, called me, then passed out. I awoke at 6:30, noticed the missed call and called him back. My call woke him and after hearing what had happened I was able to talk him into seeing the doctor. Turns out he'd had a minor stroke. If he hadn't gone to the hospital when he did, doctors say his stroke could have been massive. Before that I had NEVER left my cell phone on at night. Now I leave it on just for him;)
