ILMW, I've been reading your story for days now (think I'm on page 19 or so of 50-something) I think my situation is somewhat similar to yours in that, at some point along the way, I lost my confidence in myself and it had a lot to do with my wife leaving. As I'm reading yours posts, I am inspired by the huge changes in you and your attitude. Makes me think I can change too. I gotta say, yours is a real tear-jerker at times but I hope it works out (or worked out) in the end - I'm still reading. But thanks so much for sharing, it really does help the rest of us.

 

Gunny, wow, what can I say? Insane amounts of insight from you and I've largely been keeping to just ILMW's thread so I can only imagine what is out there in the other posts. I am going to pick up "Secrets of the Alpha Male" soon as I really think I need it. You are truly a man who has "been through it"... Thanks to you for taking the time to post, it helps more than you know.

 

I guess I am at the point where I'm no longer expecting anything to change (but there is always that small part of me...) but I'm coming to grips with my own issues and trying to resolve them. I know at the root, I'm a *good* person but lots of other problems as well But I'd gone through 6 months of being in a bad place emotionally and the only point at which I started to come around was when I spent more time here. So THANKS!!!

I second that. Many of the regulars will probably never know what their posts mean to the (mostly silent) masses.

 

Especially Gunny...I seek out your posts every day, and get inspiration from your ability to read a situation and put it in perspective.
