Kelso Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Hello everybody - I haven't been here on LS for a while and I kind of miss it A little storytelling first. My ex and I broke up 1,5 year ago. I was devastated and all that blahblah, but I have now moved on and don't think of her as anything more than pleasing memory from the past. Some people say that the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. That's exactly what I did, after few months of pain and self pity. To boozt my ego I went on some kind of one night stand run which lasted for several months. It sure did boozt up my ego and the girls got more beautiful every time. Well, when I figured that I actually was over my ex and also figured that I hadn't been able to develop feelings to any of those girls I've met for the past months (about 15-20 girls in 6-7 months). So I decided to stop the ONS, just to clear my head and helping me to develop feelings to someone. And now it has happened. There is this girl at my university She is the shy type and doesn't talk much - at least not to people she doesn't know really well. I have managed to talk to her few times, and she always gives my a cute smile and a hi when we meet in the halls. She has even bothered to ask me questions about school. The funny thing is that she can easily find the answers to the questions at the uni's website. So it looks like she is trying to make a conversation about nothing. We've also had few conversations in parties and even got that far that we were making prank phone calls together. (I know ... it sounds like we're 13 yo, I am 24 she's 21). That is when the hard part comes. I can talk to her about the weather, about all the courses at school, about the food in the cafeteria and everything. But I just can't say the words "are you busy on Friday night? can I take you out for a pizza?" I just simply can't say it without blushing and getting this funny feeling. And the best part is that I haven't had this funny feeling since two minutes before I was dumped by my ex So I ask you dear LS'ers ... what can I do. I don't wanna look pathetic and wait for months to ask her out ... especially if she likes me (I'm seeing some signs). Any ideas to ease my situation and help me to relax?? Anyway, nice to be back ... take care
Lauriebell82 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Hey Kelso, glad to have you back! Are you scared to ask her out because she might say no, due to her shyness? Sounds like you are just gunshy, maybe due to your ex hurting you. I think you should just ask her out. Strike up a conversation and go for it! The best way to get over a fear is to just throw yourself in and face it. Sounds like she is interested in talking to you. I mean the worst she can say is no right?
tanbark813 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Any ideas to ease my situation and help me to relax?? Have a shot beforehand. But in all seriousness, ask her out soon or you risk getting friendzoned. Don't think of it as asking her out, think of it as making plans for something you know is going to happen. Be the bear with the big f**king teeth and claws.
Lucasarts Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 um so what are we supposed to do here though? In a situation like yours, I don't know what else I can say except what you already know. You have to ask her out. What's so hard about that? You're confident that she likes you and goes out of her way to talk to you, so whats the problem? Just one question; you're experiencing the same feelings that you had 2 minutes b4 being dumped when you try to ask this girl out? Uhm... i don't know if thats a good thing (usually most people feel sick and pissed when their partner dumps them. . . or i guess nervous and confused as to why. . . but I still don't understand how thats a good thing. . .), anyways, I'd consider it more of a being nervous and sort of scared of rejection. . .which again shouldn't even be thought of seeing how the girl reacts around you and how you guys seem to relate well enough.
Author Kelso Posted January 25, 2008 Author Posted January 25, 2008 lucas: It simply because the dumping came out of the blue. I really loved that girl and thought she felt the same ... so I still had this butterfly feeling in my stomach every time I saw her ... simple as that. Enough about her. I guess you guys are right, nothing that you can do ... except if you maybe could call her for me:rolleyes:. No just kidding. The worst that would happen is that she would say no. And why would she ... I mean ... I'm gorgeous...
