So here's the story. I've known this guy for over 3 years and we worked at two different retail jobs together. We became friends at the first job. Though I didn't have intial physical attraction to him, I became attracted to his personality. He seemed very complex and interesting. He was always sort of "playfully mean" with me, giving me a nick name that I HATED, but for the most part we were friends. After about a year, he left the job for another, but would come in to the old job and tell me about how great his new job was. I was looking for a better job with more money so I applied also and was hired.

At the new job together, we hung out alot. His job role allowed him to move around freely(mine did not), but he would come over and talk to me several times a day, just about random things and to joke around with me. After about two years, he starts becoming obviously unhappy with his job and talks about getting a new one. He talks about how when he leaves, I should go with him to whatever his new job is and how much fun it'd be to work together again. He does eventually find a job and quits and, as expected, he comes in to visit me to talk about the awesome new job and how I should quit and work with him, though this time I stay put. After a few months, I stopped hearing from him and I figured that was it.

Flash forward a few months and I have found a new job and leave the current one. About two weeks later, this guy contacts me on myspace and seems really interested in working with me at my new job(even though he doesn't yet know what it is???). He starts messaging me daily, sometimes more than once a day about it. Eventually, he asks for another way to contact me and I give him my AIM. Shortly after, he begins messaging me on AIM and we begin having hour long conversations regularly at night. At first the convos were just random joking around, discussing movies and things but then they started to change. He started very playfully talking about how I am "in love" with him and asking questions like "so how much are you in love with me, on a scale of 1-5?" and copying and pasting my AIM text to make it look like I said "I changed my mind, I totally love you"., just to annoy me. He says things like "I hated you so much I started liking you" and joking about us being an old married couple. Then he starts telling me about how things are rapidly going downhill with his girlfriend and he's on the verge of dumping her because she said that he was annoying and that he wouldn't ever shut up.

We don't talk every night, usually every two or three days, but always for over an hour. We seem to be getting much closer than we ever were in person, which is odd since I haven't actually seen him in over 5 months! I'm just sort of confused by him. I don't know if he's trying to indicate that he likes me and is interested in me or if he just wants to talk? He never seemed interested in talking to me outside work when we saw each other daily, but then again, he was never openly flirtatious with me like this in person. What do you guys think?

He sounds immature and seems to like to play games alot. Don't invest too much into some one like that, if he's interested he needs to just say so, not act so immature about it. The playful mean things, the paste and copy text thing, it's just games to me. Not to be mean or anything, but I've always believed in being straight forward.

Is he still with his g/f?

Sounds like a monkey looking for the next branch to jump to.

I think he is flirty around you because you let him. You do like him but not love him. You enjoy his flirts because it gives you attention.

He is attracted to you because you listen to him and even followed him to his other job.

I do not think you should pursue a relationship with him, no sexual, just keep it platonic.
