In 2 weeks, I will be on a business trip to Washington DC and my hotel just happens to be right across the street from a couple of nightspots. These aren't bars or pubs, mind you, but actual full-fledged nightclubs, the kind with like 5 floors.

My question is this: since my company will be paying for my room throughout the weekend and I'll probably be bored on Saturday night, do you think its strange to show up at a club by yourself? (Keep in mind I'm rather young, 26 yrs old). Is this a common occurence in big cities? And has anyone here actually went to a club by themselves and what did you think about it? thanks

No, not as long as you tell people you're from out of town. :)

Just don't be the weirdo that stands around all night watching all the gals dance.

Why don't you invite some people to join you? You're going on business - you can ask whoever you're meeting with to join you.

I've done that often when I've been out of town on business. It's more fun than going out alone.

Personally i don't recommend mixing business and pleasure :)

Especially if there may be alcohol involved.

That's usually a good rule!

I've had some of my best times when going out alone ! You are so much more open to meeting new people !

Besides, its a strange city, who cares if you DO look weird ( which I assure you you won't )

have FUN !
