Just wondering, is it too late to do the NC thing to see if there's any chance my ex will come back? I heard all about the whole "give him time to miss you" rule and haven't done that yet in the whole 16 months we've been broken up. We were together 7 years but he does not want to commit, yet he still loves spending time with me and going on dates as if we never broke up. I've heard you do this post break up, but if I apply it now (16 months post break up), could it still work, or should I assume there's never a chance for us?

I don't like the NC rule, but if you want to try it I say go for it. You might want to try a little vacation during a time of normal contact with him and don't contact him while you are on vacation. Or you can try couples counseling.

I don't think you should ever give up hope. You just need to be realistic about it. I hope my ex and I get back together. Is it going to happen? Probably not.

No contact means no contact. It's for you to heal not to get your ex back.
