dropdeadlegs Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 She's a binge drinker. That can be harder to deal with than a daily drinker. As you said, you never what you will walk into with a binger, what might set them off on the next binge. A binger is so unpredictable. With a a daily drunk at least you pretty much know what to expect. Binge drinkers also have a hard time admitting they have a problem precisely because they can go for days, even weeks, without a drink. They believe that next time they can control it better, that they just drank too much, or too fast last time. Hitting the "rock bottom" needed to seek recovery can take a long time. There must be hundreds of websites and books on the subject, learn as much as you can about approaching your wife about her addiction and protecting your children. I know Dr. Drew Pinsky specializes in this area, he probably has a website. He is on one of the morning news shows frequently and just started a show on Vh1 (Celebrity Rehab. More like "former" celebrities.) I pray she doesn't drive with those babies while drinking. DUI is serious, but in my area, DUI with kids in the car is VERY serious. I think there is automatic jail time when kids are involved. Good luck and best wishes.
lost4ever Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 Read the book and you will understand why I asked the questions. Usally the living room is the place that company sees. Alcoholics and their families try very hard to make everything look great in the public eye, but let the rest of the house fall apart. Dropdeadlegs figured out before me that she is a binge drinker, which really don't have the same traits. Good luck to you, and I hope everything turns out
