MysticStar Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 We've all heard the saying "The grass always looks greener on the other side." With that in mind when you see a "greener" pasture, you meet a person that initially rocks your molecules, in the end is the grass really greener? From my own experiences I'd have to say no. I've been married for 25 years and there have been ocassions when I met someone who really got my attention. But then after taking off my rose colored glasses and upon closer examination I began to see some of the same crab-grass and weeds that were in my own yard and suddenly the grass over there didn't look greener anymore. Have you had similar experiences?

Confused9 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I think some ppl think it's greener but in the end the same issues arise and the same problems are there. At least...I think it's that way?
PinkRibbon Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I don't know if it greener because I have never looked but apparently it is because my husband left me for greener pastures. I hope he gets crabs.......oops crabgrass.
Leoni Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 you meet a person that initially rocks your molecules, Allowing someone to initially rock your world, is by personal choice. You can go with the attraction or you can suppress it. It sounds like, in your case, you suppressed it with crabgrass.
PerfectLee Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I don't even care what someone's else's grass looks like. I'm happy with my bushes. lol No pun intended.

Have you had similar experiences? This thread truely makes me laugh because I have so lived it by having an ea with mm nextdoor neighbor! Golly.... I did waste alot of time thinking the grass was literally greener on the other side of my fence and I was proved very wrong! MM does have a greener lawn....NO joke, but the rest well it's all brown patch's, grub's and weed's! Think I'll send the mole we have in our yard his way...! AP:)
BetrayedMM Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Ahhh, but Astroturf really is greener. It's just not real.
TMCM Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 The grass is definitely greener but it's because of all the manure just under it.
PinkRibbon Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 hehehehehe I like that last response. So true!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
Mz. Pixie Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I'm going to say, yes, for me it is greener. My husband now is so much better to me and for me than my ex was. Not that I left my ex for my husband, I didn't, however things are just so much better for me now.
feelingtorn Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 thought it was greener, but after 9 months of hanging-out, I slowly realized that I actually prefered what I had before. I don't regret it because it was what I wanted at the time. I learned a valuable life lesson and will not make the same mistake again.
Confused9 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I hope my X has that same issue feelingtorn. I really do.

Perhaps the poster was targeting relationships that seemed somewhat normal until their S/O suddenly decided to become a landscaper for no apparent reason.
Trialbyfire Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Rye's a pretty hardy grass. If you mix it with other types of grass seed, maybe you can keep your primary home lawn in great shape, so the weeds over the fence don't look so attractive. Dandelion salad gets pretty boring after awhile.

cj1988 Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 I am living proof it is NOT greener, as matter of fact that s--- is dead and hurts your feet to walk on......left H for H now and he is far worse than what I had !
mopar crazy Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 My H thought it was greener on the other side until about 3 months into the A. I guess you only know so much of a person at work. It's not until you both get into the real world, meet friends, know how the OP lives outside of work that makes some wake up. What he thought was lush, green, and comfortable to walk on barefooted turned out to be run over w/ grubs and weeds the farther he walked on it. And it had been mowed so many times by different mowers that it became overly used.
