On my 17th birthday i realized that the people i care for the most in my life is my friends. I mean ive gone through hell and **** and the best times ive had in my life is with them they have always been there and consider them my brothers more than i do with my own brother and i consider them all my best friends. I realized another thing too i am dead afraid to lose my friends because these guys understand me the most even if most other people don't and if we were separated i dont know what i would do. But is this wrong to think

Is it "wrong" to recognize and appreciate the people who have demonstrated their unfailing love, support, encouragement and belief in us? -- Of course not.

Are we obligated to love/trust people who don't treat us well (even if or just because they're relatives)? -- Of course not.

Is it healthy to be afraid that those we love may be called to follow their own paths which may lead them away from us? Is it healthy to feel needy and act clingy? -- Of course not.

This isn't bad thinking at all, it's fairly positive. Considering them brothers more than your own brother isn't an issue either; it's common for most teenagers to hide from their family. You've known them long enough to where you don't need to impress them.

Don't let it get out of hand though. Family will always be there for you when your friends may not.
