Ok guys, so I have had my eye on a girl on my university course and I finally found some small shred of confidence to say something to her...ok I'll set the scene...I'm in my parapsychology class she is sitting on the table to my left...my tutor has just given me a grilling on a research proposal I came up with...and ultimatly made me feel like a complete turnip in front of the group...the end of the lesson comes around and i've been psyching myself up for the approach...I saw...'in my head'...just casually saying to her something like "damn...the tutor really knows how to make you feel like an idiot doesnt he..." then continue with small talk etc.. etc.. I said the line...but didnt continue the conversation...she made a small comment back to me in aggreement...and from the brief ammount of time that I gave eye contact for she was smilling...but I dont know if I've blown it now for not continuing the conversation...I saw her today but I was badly hungover...and nervous due to the fact I had to present a research project to the whole psychology group....(which is large I might add...) so I didnt talk to her...as a psychologist I'm sure I could be overanalysing the situation...but I reeeeaaalllllllyyyy dont want to come accross as a creep...if you know what I mean....so really what I'm asking is do you guys think I've missed my chance? and is it creepy for a guy to just randomly come over and start talking in the way I did? comments would be very much appreciated... =)

How is it creepy tring to strike up a conversation with someone? Surely that's how people get to know one another?

Sure, some folks don't want to talk, while others would be happy to talk all day long - but that's just people!

If that's all you've said to her, you've far from blown it, IMO - heck, you've hardly said a thing to her! If anything, you've "broken the ice"...

The next time you're in class, why not start the topic off about your coursework (a topic you'll both have in common) and see where it takes you!
