Hi all

Well its been about five months now since I broke up with my long term girlfriend of two years. We've had nearly no contact since that very day, nothing.

Now two of our mutual friends are getting married to each other soon. And guess what?... I'm a groomsman and my Ex is one of the bridesmaids! Yes it sounds like it could be a British comedy starring Hugh Grant! But this is for real!

SO anyway, my Ex just contacted me recently and wants to meet up sometime before the wedding to catch up, and to make things easier for us on the day. I was actually going to suggest the same thing to her, so I'm happy to know we are on the same page.

Anyone got any tips for the first contact since breakup day? We will likely just meet for a coffee or something.

Do I hug on greeting her? Do I hug on the goodbye?

To be friends is my main goal. And I hope it is her goal aswell, but you can't be sure.

Etiquette concerns me

If you're the one who broke up with her, the ball's in your court. She will probably be reticent so as not to get hurt any further. I think it's admirable that she's willing to meet with you after you dumped her!

Just go with the flow

If you want to just be friends then treat her like one of your friends

Good luck
