a4a Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I don't need a man in my life to be happy. Does that make me a man hater? No...... it is just something I do not require. I can be content with friends and work. Perhaps what a bicycle fish statement truly means is that back in the olden days women were told that they were lesser beings if they did not have a man-by both men and women- and this statement says "no that is not true".
a4a Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Let me add I think a man can be perfectly content without a woman in his life as well..... men don't NEED women.... they want them.
Saxis Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 If I hear a woman make the fish comment then to me she comes across as a manhater and I'd avoid dating her like the plague. Don't think you'd have to worry about that. If she said that to you, and then tried to date you..... something would smell fishy.
LucreziaBorgia Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Tomato, tomato. Maybe I've just been on forums for too long but I see this sort of thing fairly often. Its predictable: Step one: pose as the sort of person you dislike most. Incorporate every ugly stereotype you can in as convincing language as possible to fool as many people as possible, while still barbing at those you don't like. Step two: Set up a 'I got what I deserved scenario'. Step three: Take on a 'reformed' personality. Why? To cleverly ridicule those you don't like and convince those you don't like to see the error of their ways by pretending to be one of them who 'got what they deserved' and 'saw the light'. I see it all the time on this one OW board I lurk around. Heck, I've seen it more than a few times here!
StartingOver07 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I cannot understand why a man would be so sensitive about a woman stating she has no use for men.... geeze would it upset you if a lesbian said this too? You mean the only reason to "have use" for a man (or anyone, for that matter) is for sex?
a4a Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 You mean the only reason to "have use" for a man (or anyone, for that matter) is for sex? No because some women don't have a use for a man for sex even. Just prefers not to have man in her life. Tied down to expectations and needs of another person... male, female, or friend. Some people find relationships are not worth the BS. Not just about sex...... sex is the easiest thing to get for a women.
Trialbyfire Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Let me add I think a man can be perfectly content without a woman in his life as well..... men don't NEED women.... they want them. I couldn't agree with you more. You can either create a codependent relationship or you can want each other in your lives.

But wait a second arent you married yourself A4a??? WTF? lol. The thing is we all need each other whether we admit it or not. Just because I said I dont want to get married I never said I didnt want someone to love you know.
a4a Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 But wait a second arent you married yourself A4a??? WTF? lol. The thing is we all need each other whether we admit it or not. Just because I said I dont want to get married I never said I didnt want someone to love you know. On paper I am. Some people have different needs. You can be married and not need the person you are married to. You want that person. I don't need friends..... I want them. (well some of them) I certainly could survive without friends and a man. I want friends, I don't really want a "full time" man at this point in my life.
Lizzie60 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 But wait a second arent you married yourself A4a??? WTF? lol. The thing is we all need each other whether we admit it or not. Just because I said I dont want to get married I never said I didnt want someone to love you know. I agree.. we all need other people to be happy... but it doesn't have to be a man. I, personally, just need my friends, my children, my new granddaughter... and a few lovers... I don't need a 'full time' man in my life... I want more than one.. I like diversity...
StartingOver07 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 No because some women don't have a use for a man for sex even. Just prefers not to have man in her life. Tied down to expectations and needs of another person... male, female, or friend. You lost me. I understand that not everyone wants to be in a romantic r/s. That makes sense to me. But it seems as though not "having use" for a man is somehow synonymous with not wanting an intimate/sexual r/s with a man. I am simply saying that there are lots of other "uses" for men -- friends, fathers, brothers, colleagues, classmates, etc.
brothermartin Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 The attitude of this woman sounds a lot like a couple of my ex girlfriends. This is definitely the kind of stuff that makes me want to stay single the rest of my life!
brothermartin Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I like the irony of this statement from the author: ...and the fact that all the female posters are denying it could possibly be a woman. I second that point. I've rarely known a single to admit being wrong about something that women are supposed to be so much better at than men.

The is no use for a man besides to get your rocks off on. oh yeah or his money.... yeah...... thats it...... yeah......
Chrome Barracuda Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 On paper I am. Some people have different needs. You can be married and not need the person you are married to. You want that person. Hmmmm on paper I am. You know what you sound real miserable, and it's not his fault. You forget that happiness comes from within and thus you should seek happiness within yourself. If I was him, and just seeing how you felt about me, I would honestly ask the question why the F are we still married? You have alot of isses. And it has nothing to do with him. Something is wrong with you in your head.
brothermartin Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 True but like I said in the olden days a woman without a man to depend on was considered at risk, pathetic, unwanted, lesser. The is no use for a man besides to get your rocks off on. oh yeah or his money.... yeah...... thats it...... yeah...... Only a woman could say something like this and not worry about getting sued. Even as a joke.
Chrome Barracuda Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Only a woman could say something like this and not worry about getting sued. Even as a joke. Funny in this day and age of an independant woman I thought you could take care of themselves, they dont need no man remember??? There's alot of females like that where I'm from and theyre all miserable fat chicks who cant find anyone. Cause they're all bitches on the inside.
Author Woggle Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 Just look at this board and this article describes many women on here and many men's wives and girlfriends. There are many women like this and people wonder why I don't judge my friend for feeling the way he feels.
sally4sara Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I've read this thing thrice now. I'm sorry, but I think a man wrote it. That's not to say that there are not some foul and self absorbed women in this world. Of course there are, just as there are foul self absorbed men. But this thing is so contrived. The piece made sure to touch every aspect of the stereotypical picture of the harpie woman getting her just reward that it comes off well.....made up. Its making me remember how I ended up getting crap grades in English one year because my male teacher read a poem written from the view point of a girl. I said I didn't like it because it was patronizing and obviously written by a guy; girls don't think like that. How was I suppose to know my male English teacher wrote it?!?! Woggle, did you write this? I tease, I tease. well, sort of

But a lot of them are more MANipulating than just out right bitchy to your face. I'm cool though, I've been around a while so I know the games. As far as them being fat, hey, I like a full course meal!

Your wife didn't write this hollow tripe, so your friend is still in the wrong. take it to the other thread.
Chrome Barracuda Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 So what your saying is that, females cannot be introspective and have epiphanies of they're own??? It may not look like a female wrote it but did you ever think that she had someone who's a male like ghostwrite it or it was dictated to someone else? Hmmmmmmmm?

A brother like me likes a little meat on them bones. lol. But if she got a bitchy all about me attitude , that's a serious turn off. You know the old saying: You catch more bees with honey than you do with vinegar.
