My co-worker was telling me today that she heard on the radio that today is the biggest day for divorce.

They were saying it is because it is the first official day back for the working person & most people stay together over the holidays for the kids & then get divorced today.

Not sure if anyone else heard that or know if that is true or not.....

Just food for thought I guess. :D

If I was married and wanted to get a divorce, I'd definitely do it today.

How's that for a New Year's resolution.

Hey...I got my divorce two weeks before Christmas 2003. Was the best Christmas present ever! :lmao:

I bet.

Yeah, if I hated them enough, I'd totally ruin a holiday for them. If there are kids, maybe a birthday...

DC...she cheated on me after being with her for 8 years. I didn't and still don't hate her but I knew it wasn't going to get any better and I just wanted my life back...that's all I asked for.

Hmm.. interesting... maybe more accurately the biggest day/month for separations leading to divorce? Sure enough it was a year ago in January my ex flew the coop after a miserable x-mas and New Years. Though she didn't actually leave until the 22nd it was this time last year that my gut started twisting, churning and dropping out because I knew something was up.

My STBXW was just staying with me until the holidays were over. I found some love letters she had written to the OM explaining just that fact. I said screw it and I filed on 12/31.

I'll bet mine isn't all that uncommon. EA during the summer, PA during the fall, get through the holidays then dump the spouse.

Welcome to the new year......

PW, I heard the same thing on the radio yesterday. It was the number one day for any type of romantic breakup, and the number one day most marriages drop the d-bomb, AND finalize their divorces (I guess the one year separation law for most places?).

Could be the result of crappy gifts.

Too much family togetherness, where I work the "I've just separated from my husband" calls have gone through the roof. Tis also the season for DV! Shelters are overflowing this time of year!
