Just three hours now until showtime, and I'm seriously about to have a panic attack! Perhaps it's just the anticipation that has the better of me, but I don't think I've had this sort of reaction to getting to know someone since I was a teenager. If he's the least bit nervous, himself, I'm going to lose it. Has anyone else had this experience? I'm certainly no stranger to dating, and I'm usually perceived as very cool and level-headed when it comes to this stuff.

This is absolutely insane. I'm cracking myself up over here.

Of course! everyone has experienced it some way or another. Its perfectly normal to feel very anxious and jittery about meeting someone. Just relax. Im sure once you guys see each other all the nerves will go away.

yes, i experience this when im about to go on stage to perform, the anticipation is what kills me (when i get on stage though, its like a walk in the park...a great feeling too)

i also felt this way once...with a girl back in my teenage years. She was beautiful, probably the definition of what my dreamgirl would be, and everytime i saw her i couldnt help but feel queasy and lightheaded...i could never talk to her because of how my body would tighten up and freeze itself

of course now if i saw her...i'd actually say more than just "hi"

dont worry about it, its just anticipation of something new and exciting, so you'll feel much better when you actually go out there

Thanks, Lucasarts! For what it's worth, I'm in a band, and a newish member of it, at that. I usually only get stage fright just before I go up, and as soon as the music starts, it's gone. This has been an all day thing, and as I just looked at the clock and noticed how late it is, I felt butterflies, goosebumps, and a wave of nausea all at once.

This isn't the first time I've met him, in case that wasn't clear. This will be the first time I've been able to sit down with him and talk at length, one-on-one. I've wanted to for quite some time and was about to ask him out, myself, but he beat me to the punch. :p

well in your situation i guess its more of a thing like a dream come true? someone that you've always liked finally comes out and asks to hang out with you (showing interest) so i guess the nerves is normal. The fact that you're feeling like this all day is that your probably a lil nervous that you wont make a good impression on him, and you dont want to blow this chance with this guy. Honestly though, just be yourself, because that was what drew him to you in the first place (im assuming?)
