torranceshipman Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Hey guys, My ex boyfriend of about 2.5 months (I know, short time together!) ended things last yr v.abruptly after losing someone very close to him (this was first part of last yr)...but was always very insistent i met with him and his family, spent time together as friends etc after the split...he was also being flirty all the time...anyway, I kept contact v.low or NC as I just wanted to move on - he always contacted me during this time, asked to hang out, etc, which I never did...a coupla months later he dates someone but then expresses great interest me behind her back (which I flame him totally for and wont tolerate!!)...then when he is single again he asks if I'd spend the day with him n his mom, before xmas, then asks to spend new yrs day together, I say no but anyway eventually we meet up for a date a few days later after emailing etc, and spend a very intimate evening together - felt lovely to be with him again - but he strikes me as very insecure/vulnerable like he was right when we split, and I feel like he wants to keep me at a distance despite his feelings, because of this. So I'm being sensible and either not seeing him again, or limiting this to a few lovely evenings/dates together (as I do like him but have moved on a lot since last yr, and this all seems v.complicatd!) Any thoughts? - do you think I'm right to think he's cautious, and should I run screaming (!) or cut the guy a bit of slack and see what happens? Thanks!
