Ariadne Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Adriadne - what exactly about that story would cause you to run, other than being boring? Well, Some things you have to make it a dialog. Where are you from? Berkley, and you? It has potential for being a good conversation piece, but what would be the most unappealing for me would be someone telling me all kind of details I didn't ask for. Ariadne

Ariadne Well as I said in an earlier post I don't unload it all at once as a monologue. I was merely telling you guys my whole situation at once. Usually it's a succession of boring questions in which they ask about all of that stuff piece by piece and often end up confused about how it all fits together which makes the whole interaction awkward and totally kills the attraction.
Ariadne Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Usually it's a succession of boring questions in which they ask about all of that stuff piece by piece. They don't have to be boring questions. Whenever someone asks you something about you it shows some interest in their part, that alone is enough not to make it boring. and often end up confused about how it all fits together which makes the whole interaction awkward and totally kills the attraction. Seems like your heart is not with it when you answer, that's why they may sound boring and awkward.
Lucky555 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 OH please your story is not bad at all. So you think women lose interest...Just being yourself to the right girl is what you need, if your fake they will notice. I think you need more humor in this. You are obviously doing something with your life. You held a respectable job. You don't need to go into too much detail, but turn the tables and ask them. Also ask what they like to do? They may have some interesting stories. What do you do in your spare time? Questions that i ask: What have you done in your past? You answer....Worked at a honda dealership it was a great opportunity to ..... expand how it helped you or how it wasn't your thing, and maybe what u liked about it. Oh where are you living now? simple one answer What are you currently doing? Going back to school for my ba...in ___. I would like to and then share your dream ect. "How about you?" Even if your living off your savings you are doing something good for yourself. You are accomplishing goals and seeming to be a goal orientated person who wants to solidify his future. HAVE CONFIDENCE. Go in the mirror and say "I AM AN AMAZING GUY!" lol Try it. Love yourself then get out there! lol It sounds like living off your savings and going back to school is a set back? IMPROVEMENT IS NEVER A SET BACK, yes you may have to deal with your circumstances but the reward after your done, higher pay better outlook! Ladies will like an intelligent conversation. In addition, the type of girl your approaching and what type of person are you looking for will help to guide you.
Trialbyfire Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Some different perspectives here. The beauty of LS...differing opinions and advice. One quick question Phateless. Do you ever ask another person about their background? Do you find this boring too?
Author Phateless Posted January 2, 2008 Author Posted January 2, 2008 I do ask about their background, but those conversations don't usually hold much excitement when you've just met someone. A lot of excellent suggestions here that I will definitely use. I've noticed that very often girls will ask me all these questions very very soon after meeting me. This happens over and over, and I know it's interest, but I need to make the conversation more FUN. I'll start being more playful and see what happens.
