Geishawhelk Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Ok. January is peeking round the corner, and apart from all the parties, auld acquaintance and sore heads on th 2nd, Minds occasionally turn to the traditional favourite of The New Year's resolution.... Some are laughable, some are impossible, some are, well, plausible. Some might even be unprintable..... If I give you mine, would you let me hear yours? OK: I aim to go vegetarian. I aim to gain a really good accredited qualification in 'Dog Whispering' (Finally! Recognition at last!) and start my own business. I aim to be kind, to be kind and also, to be kind. I vow to use my ears and mouth in proportion (Ears twice as much as gob...) And I'd like to grow 6" because at only 4' 10" I get sick of talking up people's noses.... You'd be surprised the things I see.....
Citizen Erased Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 The start of this year I made the resolution of not making any resolutions. They are pointless, I never stick to them, and I usually forget them 2 days later anyway. Perhaps mine for next year should be Write Resolutions down?
Author Geishawhelk Posted December 29, 2007 Author Posted December 29, 2007 Ok.... yeh.... Good start..... Thanks for that!!
Trialbyfire Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Geish, you might wish that I didn't participate but here goes: I aim to go vegetarian. I cannot do that. I'm a predatory carnivore with herbivore leanings. I aim to gain a really good accredited qualification in 'Dog Whispering' (Finally! Recognition at last!) and start my own business. How do you tell a dog to stop being bad, in a whisper? I aim to be kind, to be kind and also, to be kind. I cannot be kind. It rubs me the wrong way, the same way it must feel, when a cat is rubbed the wrong way. I vow to use my ears and mouth in proportion (Ears twice as much as gob...)Hear food coming, then eat it? And I'd like to grow 6" because at only 4' 10" I get sick of talking up people's noses....Hmmm...hmmm...hmmm...thanks for sharing this.
Author Geishawhelk Posted December 29, 2007 Author Posted December 29, 2007 (edited) Geish, you might wish that I didn't participate but here goes: I cannot do that. I'm a predatory carnivore with herbivore leanings. Me too. but it's just a 'me' thing..... How do you tell a dog to stop being bad, in a whisper? *no* (whispering) *you tell the dog's owner to behave....* I cannot be kind. It rubs me the wrong way, the same way it must feel, when a cat is rubbed the wrong way. Hmmmm. My cat likes this.... Hear food coming, then eat it? no silly....! Hear more than speak. Use two ears more, tongue less. Then likely to avoid fork-ups. Wisdom gained better that way. Ugh. Hmmm...hmmm...hmmm...thanks for sharing this. Hey no problem, just do me a favour and don't visit if ya hav' a cold.....!! Edited December 29, 2007 by Geishawhelk
PWSX3 Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Being a vegetarian isn't all that hard to do anymore, there are some really good substitutes out there anymore. I'm not a vegetarian but I don't eat at fast foods anymore & they really helps out on eating those yucky hamburgers. If we do eat meat we fix it at home & buy quality meat, but most of it is chicken anymore. I agree that most resolutions are broken so I don't make them, but I do want to keep working on things I have been doing for the last year such as keep going to the gym (been slacking the last month) save up for a road bicycle, this year & road 1300 on a hybrid (a lot like a mountain bike) & I plan on adding more miles next year. Last year it was so funny how full the gym got for the month of Jan. then around Feb. or March it seemed to get back to the ones that had been there for a while. Work on my relationship with the W, this year just seemed like we were roommates so I need to move forward with that.
brothermartin Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 My resolutions: 1. I aim to keep my bank account spotless 2. I aim to start writing those screenplays I want to do 3. I aim to feel better about myself and have a better sense of self-worth 4. I want to be more confident when expressing my views and opinions 5. I want a better car 6. I want a better credit score That about sums it up. The one thing I really want I don't think I'll get because she's too wrapped up in herself and probably dosen't even know how much she really hurt me, so whatever.
knaveman Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I don't like making resolutions either, I just pick a date to start doing something and do it. On that note, I plan to quit drinking (for a month or two because really, who wants to go forever without beer?) and get in the best shape I have ever been in.
